Absolution

~Winter's pov~

"I've told you everything I know" Daisy said to me.

"I'm here to provide progress updates based on the intel you gave us. Nothing more" I replied.

"And they only send you, why?" She asked.

"If anything I tell you jogs any memories, any pertinent information at all, I'll ask you to divulge" I continued.

"It's because you're the only one I didn't hurt. Personally, I mean. That's why"

"Have you thought of any new pertinent information?"

"As I said, Hive's followers tell me everything, but he really returns the favor. I'm sorry that's not enough to act on" She said.

"Well, we are acting on a new lead" I responded "We've located a U.S. missile silo in the Pacific. Seems like a good fit"

"If that's where they plan to do it, they'll be there ahead of you"

"Yes. the silo's staff went silent five hours ago" I said.

"Even if you infiltrate, you can't shut down the launch, not without government kill codes"

"We are aware"

"Hand-delivered by a DOD official, it's not hackable, you won't be-"

"We are aware" I snapped, she sighed. And I looked back down to the tablet.

"Have you ever had someone take your brain and play?" Daisy asked.

"Yep" I said, continuing to do stuff on the tablet.

"See- Wait, what?" She asked "Winter, what do you mean?" and I walked out.

~Time Skip~

"What you working on?" Hunter asked walking into the lab.

"Nothing, just browsing some things" I answered.

"You're a terrible liar" He answered, I scoffed, and he changed the tab on my computer.

"Well, it was supposed to be a surprise" I answered.

"Booking a trip? Again?"

"For two" I said quietly.

"That's a romantic gesture, how very not you to be romantic" He said to me.

"What? Of-" I scoffed "Это нелепо" (That is ridiculous)

"We both know that I'm the romantic one" He said, I shook my head "But it might not be the best time to be skipping off to the...seychelles but it does look nice"

"Hive's in custody. S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to recover that warhead, and then I was thinking that...we've had enough tragedy. A little fun wouldn't kill us" I replied "You think I'm not romantic? I'm gonna do something with you on that island that will take your breath away" I knew what he was thinking.

"What is...Are you? What?"

"Snorkeling" I finished "Did you know there are over 1,000 species of fish in the Seychelles? I cannot wait" I told him "I know what you were thinking"

"Haha, very funny" He said sarcastically.
