The first person Sebastien went to after the breakup was Ben. Not that he had any other option, seeing as Ben is his best friend and whether Sebastien wants to or not, he tells him everything.
Thirty seconds after Alek left, he laughed to himself because he got played again. Just like Ben said he would.
And damn was it convincing this time. Alek really outdid all of his other exes. He said I love you first, he made an effort to be with Sebastien and show how much he cared, he spent time with his family, and acted like Sebastien was the best thing in his life.
And for months, Sebastien believed him.
He actually felt like he was finally in a relationship that was going to last. He felt like he and his partner finally had mutual feelings.
He should've known it was too good to be true. He should've been more careful. He should've listened to Ben.
The last thing he wanted to do right now was face Ben and deal with his I told you so and his soft expression of pity. But he needs to work. He needs to do something that will get his mind off of it all. And that's exactly what overworking himself does.
"He broke up with me." Sebastien said monotonously when he saw Ben at the hotel.
"What?" Ben laughed, sliding his card through the machine and clipping it back onto his belt.
"Alek. He broke up with me. Like ten minutes ago." Sebastien said, taking his turn to clock in, his action a bit harsher than Ben's was.
  "What?" Ben repeated.
"You fucking heard me." Sebastien snapped, his throat tightening. He slammed his locker closed. "Fuck this. You were right and I'm fucking sorry. I can't do this shit anymore." Sebastien pushed his hands through his hair, then harshly punched the lockers. "Fuck!"
He immediately shook his hand because fuck it hurt. He groaned and kicked the lockers, the sound echoing in the room.
  "Bash.." Ben said gently.
"No, no, it's fine, it's fine. I mean I shouldn't have gotten fucking comfortable anyway because you're always fucking right about this shit. How dare I think that someone actually loves me! Like fuck!" Sebastien laughed humorlessly. "At least my fucking exes were decent enough to be shitty from the start, but Alek really got me there with all that loving caring shit in the beginning! Damn, he's good! Fuck!" Sebastien's laugh quickly turned into tears, making him lean his head back and stare at the ceiling.
"I'm gonna kill him." Ben said simply.
"Get in line." Sebastien jerked his backup dress shirt off of the hanger and changed into it. "Like who the fuck does he think he is!? He was the one who came onto me first! He was all like..fucking initiating shit. He said he loved me first and he fucking made me think that you were wrong about him! I mean, I have to give him some credit because damn, he got me good!"
"So did he like..explain himself?" Ben asked.
"Oh, he explained himself." Sebastien laughed. "I believe he said he figured things out and he doesn't need me anymore. He tried out the gay thing, but get this, it's not future material. He got everything he needed and he realized he's not gay. He doesn't want anything holding him back at college or some shit. He said that he lied about it being real and then I told him I hated him and to get out."
"Fuck, Bash. There's no way. Is he like..he's got to be like joking or something."
"Some fucking joke!" Sebastien laughed humorlessly. "You're the one who didn't trust him to begin with, I thought you'd be like oh yeah I saw this coming."
"That's the thing, though..I didn't. I always do, but Alek seemed.."
"Genuine? Like he actually loved me? Yeah, totally fucking sucks, doesn't it?"
"We can talk more later, if you want." Ben said, following Sebastien to the front desk.
"No. I'm done. Done with relationships, done with feeling so fucking sorry for myself and so fucking stupid because of guys thinking they can just toss me around like I mean fucking nothing. I'm just so sick and tired of all of this shit. Finally opening up and getting kicked in the face. I can't do it anymore. And I'm definitely not going to fucking wallow in it because this is on him, not me. I don't deserve to feel like shit, he does." Sebastien said firmly.
"So playboy Bash is back in our midst?" Ben chuckled.
"Alert the fucking media." Sebastien said monotonously.
