Hello Diary,
In Pesantren, there is no such thing as dating. If you think exchanging letters between girls and boys is called dating, then that's all, without any personal meetings. Glancing at each other might be possible, but it's only a rare occurrence. The dormitory and the school building are separate, if you glance at the boys who happen to cross across the street ... that's a kind of windfall. ha ha ha.
In the new school, the male dormitory is at the end of the hallway of the ancient building on the south side. Until I graduated from school I never went there, not because it was prohibited, but it really had no business with the residents in it. In school, in addition to those specialized in religious studies called PK, male and female students are in the same room. It's just that, like there is an unwritten law; if male students are on one side, then female student seats are on the other side. Even though there are still some who share the same table, but it's not a problem here.
I chose the seat in the first row when I first moved, because only that chair was empty and easily accessible from where I was standing at that time. In the next semester, our classroom moved behind the school cooperative shop. I sat on the second row bench, side by side with Titi. While waiting for the teacher, in our class there is a group of boys who like to sing romantic songs accompanied by excerpts of acoustic guitars. When I was a new student, Tamim and friends often sang Missing song by X. At that time I like the song Good Bye by Air Supply. At first I like the song because so melodious and touching. One day Tamim and friends sang my favorite song, but a parody version and in Javanese. I was very upset because he ruined the memorable song but at the same time I also couldn't help laughing.
In our class, many boys who are good at singing and at the same time able to play musical instruments. Some of them are Bogang who have real names Aan, Imam, and Tamim. Andi and Farid are also in this circle, where they are often seen together. Emon, is another class student who likes to play music and often joins them. Female student in our class who often duet with Tamim is Mila. There are also female student from Biology class who are good at singing and often join them. Her name is Muti.
My activities as a cooperative treasurer expanded my circle of friends. Nurry from the Biology class is a cooperative secretary, and Arul from the Physics class is also the core administrator of the student structure that deals with school cooperatives. I met these two people together or individually.
Meeting guys because school assignments never happened in Pesantren. The situation has changed and nothing is surprising. Male students are also ordinary people, just the same as female students in our teenage phase. Being religious at a very young age is aware of ourselves as teenagers, and the influence of the teachings of my father shaped me as a person with the motto; friends yes dating no. Suddenly seemed to be invisible advertising. Until that moment there were no lovers in our class. All friends and no jealousy of drama. But there was a time when I made friends with male students from other classes, when he visited me suddenly the guy in our class frowned and was not friendly to the guest. Shortly afterwards I stopped being friends with that guy, not because of my classmates, but another reason related to the principles which I adhere to.
The first month sitting in a new class, there is a senior who has a crush on always passing greetings through a classmate dormitory with me. I've only ever passed each other, he is tall and handsome, but having a boyfriend is not a priority yet for me. Too many interesting books that I want to read a lot, and learn to write good short stories. Also, there are things I want to realize where previously it was never part of the agenda of the Pesantren or my family is... watching movies in theaters.
