A/N: Sorry for the wait! Here's the new chapter, this is also kinda filler-ish but I hope you like it! Don't hesitate to comment your thoughts on this chapter! I'd love to see what you think about Reina's predicament!
The seasons had come and gone as Reina lived her everyday life as a baby, so you could guess how happy she was when she finally reached her first milestone, aka finally being able to walk by herself!
The day that it happened was like any other day. She woke up, prayed with her mother and had tummy time with both of her parents. That's when it happened. Tonalli was urging Reina to go to her father who was a small distance away from the mother-daughter duo.
And so Reina finally wore her big girl pants and braved the distance. She wobbly stood up, and almost took her first step, but she fell on her bum. At this point, her mom tried to help her but Reina hit Tonalli's helping hands away, wanting to stand up by herself. Reina then shakily stood on her feet and proceeded to slowly and carefully take her first real step. Concentration was the only emotion visible on Reina's baby face.
The moment she did, her parents cheered for her urging her to go further. Reina giggled at the attention and then did the same as before. One foot forward and then the other. She was able to reach her dad on her own. Reina was never more proud of herself! Pride and satisfaction were practically oozing out of her very core.
The same could be said about her parents as at the moment Reina reached Piandao, he grasped her by her armpits and swung her around while laughing with pride and happiness along with Tonalli, who had also stood up at this point and observed her husband and child with utter bliss.
After that, her parents took on strolls everywhere! Suffice it to say they were very excited. Piandao even took Reina to a beautiful clearing looking down on the valley and waterfall system housed on the cliff the town of Shu Jing was on! Reina was excited because that was one of the places Sokka had been while training with her father in the show! It was absolutely mesmerizing. Reina had never been to such a stunning nature-filled environment in both of her lives. Even the smell was magnificent, the smell of morning dew, fresh wildflowers and a clean atmosphere surrounded her, it was simply intoxicating.
Speaking of the town Reina was taken there a few more times now that she could walk. There she and her parents were always treated like royalty, the villagers would shower them with attention and praise.
The last time they went as a family she even received a small teddy bear from a granny as a gift. It was a stuffed toy that resembled a dragon, it was Reina's favorite toy by far. So the next few weeks when Reina was roaming the castle with her mom's supervision, you better bet she was holding the stuffed dragon with her everywhere she went.
After Reina got tired from walking through the huge mansion that was her home Tonalli brought the small girl to her and her husband's room. When they entered the room, a squawk startled Reina making her flinch in her mother's arms. Tonalli simply laughed at the reaction. Reina then turned and looked towards the window where the sound came from. A crow was perched on the windowsill looking towards her and her mother.
The crow was very beautiful in Reina's opinion, after all, it wasn't an ordinary crow. First and foremost, there is a large patch of white feathers on the nape of its neck. Secondly, it had quite a short tail, as well as a deeper bill with a white tip that was strongly arched. Though predominantly black, its throat, breast and neck showed a faint purple gloss. All in all the crow was a lovely bird, and apparently, a very friendly one, as once it saw Reina's mother, it chirped again and flew over to the duo and sat on Tonalli's head. On closer inspection, what appeared to be a letter, was tied to one of the crow's feet.
