"You're such a cheater!" Kelsie laughed as Embry pushed her to the ground, kicking the soccer ball away from her. The two were playing a bit of soccer in Embry's back yard, waiting for either Jake or Quil to meet them. The four friends were supposed to hang out today, but recently Jake had been hanging out with miss Bella Swan.

"It's not cheating! It's winning, Kels!" Embry's laugh sounded as he kicked the ball into the makeshift goal.

"You're playing without me?!" A voice shouted from across the yard. Turning, the best friends saw Quil Ateara running towards them with a smile on his face.

"Sorry man, we got bored." Embry told him, throwing the ball onto the porch before the trio headed down the road to Jacob's house.

Kelsie's mind wandered to Jacobs, trying to see what he was doing at the moment. She held Embry's hand as he sort of guided her down the street; the boy had noticed that she's been losing focus more often, causing her to not pay attention to her surroundings. Almost as if she was looking through Jacob's eyes, she could see he was walking towards his garage, a toolbox in hand.

"Earth to Kels!" Quil waved his hand in front of her face.

"Huh, what?" Kelsie snapped out of it, her mind focusing back on the two boys in front of her.

"You alright? You were zoned out for a while there." Quil asked, walking backwards now.

"Yeah I'm fine, don't worry about it." She wasn't fine. She could feel her body's temperature rising by the second, and she could no longer smell human blood. It worried her, and she could only hope that she wasn't dying.

The three friends had reached Jacob's house. Walking down the driveway, the made a left towards the garage instead of walking into the house to greet Billy. If Jacob wasn't with them or Bella, he was in the garage.

"Jakey! We're here!" Quil shouted. The trio entered the garage to see their friend working on his car, again.

"Come on Jake! I want to get to the beach before Sam and his posse do." Kelsie smiled, crossing her arms over her chest. Jacob emerged from under the car, standing up to face his friends.

"Isn't your brother part of Sam's gang?" Jacob smirked, copying Kelsie's actions.

"Yeah but he's only nice to me when Sam isn't around. It's weird."

"It doesn't matter, they're hall monitors on steroids." Embry voiced, leading the small group out of the garage and to the beach. The four had planned a beach day, much like they do every weekend. Although today they had decided on a chill hangout instead of running around and playing games like usual.
