Embry Call was confused. How the hell did he just turn into a wolf? Something he didn't think was possible. It all made sense now. Sam and his gang. It made sense after Sam explained everything to him. Even Kelsie. It made sense why she just randomly stopped talking to Embry, then a few days later she was hanging out with Jared Cameron. Kelsie. He was excited to see her again, to talk to her. He missed her."So, Kelsie's the only girl in the pack?" Embry asked, walking side by side with Jared as the boys brought him back to Emily's.
"Yep. She's the pack pup, or at least that's what we call her." Jared laughed. Kelsie was the youngest, and smallest member of the pack.
"Is Emily nice?" The new wolf asked, rubbing his hands together.
"The nicest." Paul joined in. "She cooks for us all the time, and she's basically like a mom to Kels, so that's a plus."
Embry smiled. Yeah he was bummed he wouldn't be able to talk to Jacob or Quil, but he could see Kelsie again, and he had just gained three brothers.
As the group approached Emily's home, Embry stopped. He was nervous. He knew Kelsie was in there, but he was unsure if she knew that he was the new wolf. Embry didn't want her to think that he was mad at her. He could never be mad at her.
"You coming?" Jared asked, waiting for Embry on the steps. Nodding his head, Embry followed Jared inside the house. The house was quiet, as if nobody was home. Jared pulled Embry to the living room, where they found Paul and Sam sitting on the couch. Shortly after Jared took a seat, Emily walked into the room, a petite brunette following her.
"I thought I told you to stop phasing in the backyard Paul! I swear you go through more clothes than Kelsie does." Emily spoke, a hint of laughter in her voice.
"I do not! She's already ripped three of her shirts, and a hoodie! And it's only been two weeks!" Paul laughed, now fake arguing with Emily. "And besides, we have boxes of clothes in the woods for a reason, Ems."
"Whatever, at least I don't have anger problems." Kelsie fought back, a smile on her face.
"You must be the new guy. I'm Emily." The 20 year old introduced herself, smiling at the teen. "Welcome to the pack."
"Thanks, I'm Em-" He was cut off by a scream and a pair of arms wrapping around his neck. The smell of cinnamon wafted into his nose; Kelsie.
"Embry!" She held on tight, a large smile plastered on her face. She missed him more than words could describe. Kelsie finally had her best friend back. After the initial shock, Embry wrapped his arms around the girls torso, squeezing her into a hug.
The pair stood there for a while, enjoying each others presence, while the boys watched with looks of amusement. Kelsie was happy again, and that's all that mattered to them. Although what happened next, none of them could plan for.
Kelsie pulled away, excited to talk to her best friend again. Looking up at him, the two made eye contact, and the world seemed to freeze around them. There was a slight pull of energy between them and suddenly, gravity didn't exist anymore. The smell of vanilla and bonfires was stronger than ever to Kelsie; Cinnamon and the beach for Embry. To them, they were the only two people in the room.
"Imprinting is special. When you look into their eyes that first time, it's like gravity isn't holding you to the planet anymore. They are. Nothing else matters except them. You'll be whatever they want you to be, as long as they're happy, you're happy."
The beach. It was calm, the weather was cloudy. Embry smiled at Kelsie, holding his hand out for her. Taking it, she fell in step by his side as the two walked down the beach. The pack could be seen in the distance, messing about, but the couple continued to walk, enjoying each others company.
The woods. Embry was crouched down next to Kelsie. Her vision was blurred, but she could see he was crying. She layed in the grass, blood on her chest and neck, tears in her own eyes. Embry grabbed her hand, leaning his head against hers. He kissed her forehead, squeezing her hand to reassure his girl that he was there.
Christmas.
Birthdays.
A wedding.
A baby.
Every image that she saw, Embry was in. Always smiling, laughing. Giving her the most affection anyone could give. Even when he looked sad, or angry, he always looked at her with love in his eyes. They were soulmates.
Images of Embry rushing to her side, smiling lovingly at her, or even throwing a pillow at her. Every scene that played in her head made her extremely happy. Kelsie had nothing to worry about anymore. Embry would forever be by her side.
Embry saw her playing with his hair, sitting on his lap at the table while the pack ate, tackling him during a soccer game. This was his future, and he couldn't be happier with it.
"No fucking way!" Jared yelled, jumping up from his spot on the couch. The sudden noise startled the two teenagers, causing them to break eye contact.
"Did what I think just happened, happen?" Emily questioned, smiling as she sat on the arm of the couch next to Sam. The alpha nodded, staring at the two newest members of the pack.
"Kelsie and Embry just imprinted. On each other." Paul smiled as Sam said this. If anyone was going to imprint on Kelsie, he's glad it was Embry.
Blushing at the attention from the pack, Kelsie moved herself back into Embry's arms, burying her face into his chest.
"Alright, enough of the teasing. Initiation time." Sam grinned, standing up. Paul and Jared both had excited looks on their faces, standing as well.
"Initiation? I never had an initiation." Kelsie spoke, confused.
"You will now. It's tattoo time." Paul smirked. She knew it would happen eventually, it was inevitable. The pack tattoo, and a haircut.
Embry was sat in one of the kitchen chairs, Emily behind him with scissors as Sam placed a tattoo stencil on the boys upper right arm. Paul doing the same to Kelsie, who sat across thr room. Things were calm. They laughed and joked around as Embry was forced to sit still while Emily cut his hair. It felt like a family, and both Kelsie and Embry were glad that Sam wasn't a cult leader.
