summary: nini salazar-roberts is a serial showmancer, always falling in love with her costar. when cast as juliet in the famous tragic love story "romeo and juliet", everyone is expecting her and her costar, jet, to pursue an offstage romance. enter ricky bowen, a confirmed theatre hater, that is forced into the role of mercutio after being caught vandalizing the auditorium.
the two find themselves as star crossed lovers, just like the famed couple of the play. so while romeo and juliet are falling in love onstage every night, offstage, mercutio and juliet find themselves falling in love too.

the two meet and are instant frenemies, sharing completely different views on the world and on love. nini stating that she'll believe in love when "it snows on the beach".
