Hey Guys,
Ok so a lot of you might realize that I actually don't read a ton of School of Rock fan fictions, and that's because I'm REALLY picky.
Some of yours are great! And this is not directed at ANYONE in particular so please don't take this to heart. I just want to share some tips I think might be helpful in making your SoR fanfiction better
1. USE PROPER GRAMMAR
My god. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped reading an SOR fanfiction in the first chapter because the grammar wasn't good. I'm not talking about the spelling mistake here and there because your finger slips up, or when you forget the comma in a sentence. IM TALKING WHEN THERE IS NO GRAMMAR WHATSOEVER!!!! for example:
Omg Freddy likes summer i need to tell someone! how about zack he a good person to tell hes good at keeping secrets
THAT IRKS ME TO NO END UGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!! I have stopped reading books on the first page because the grammar is so bad.
just use good grammar, honestly it's not hard to throw a comma in there once and awhile
2. WHEN PEOPLE DON'T CAPITALIZE THE CHARACTERS NAMES
This one goes along with the last one. This one is a HUGE epidemic in the School of Rock Wattpad community and let me tell you, it is ESPECIALLY bad for Summer.
Just because her name is also a word doesn't mean you don't capitalize it. This is so annoying. Another thing thing that relates to this is when people don't capitalize "I" in their stories; for example:
i cant believe lawrence and esme broke up! this is so sad i need to tell someone, summer might be able to help.
OK SO did you see more than one problem in that one? Because I did...... can't figure it out? I'll help you; THEY DIDN'T CAPITALIZE THE FIRST WORD AFTER THE PERIOD/EXCLAMATION POINT/QUESTION MARK!!!!!!!
WHATEVER PUNCTUATION YOU ARE ENDING YOUR SENTENCE WITH YOUR NEXT SENTENCE MUST BEGIN WITH A CAPITAL LETTER!!!!!!!
also, CAPITALIZE YOUR FRICKIN "I's"
3. WHEN PEOPLE SPELL TOMIKA'S NAME WRONG
I get it, people don't always get it right. That's ok and I can tolerate it for a chapter or two, heck if you spell it "Tamika" thats better than nothing but I've seen some RIDICULOUS spellings. For Example:
-Tomeeka
-Tameka
-Tomeka
-Tameeka
-Temika
-Temeka
C'MON some of these don't even make sense! Please, just get it right.
4. WHEN PEOPLE DON'T PUT QUOTATION MARKS AROUND THEIR QUOTES
I am not lying when I say I've seen this. This also goes with the bad grammar, but I felt that this one alse needed to be its own thing.
WHEN YOU DON'T PUT QUOTES AROUND A CHARACTER'S SPEECH, I GET CONFUSED AND QUIT READING!!! For Example:
Hey. Freddy said. Hi! I replied. How was your weekend? He asked me. Good. I answered.
I DON'T know about you but I got confused even writing that. It also irks me when people do it like this:
T: Hey Lawrence have you seen Zack?
L:No, what do you need him for?
T: He borrowed my notes and I need them back.
THIS also annoys me, but I have never stopped reading book over it, but it's still annoying.
5. WHEN PEOPLE DON'T MAKE NEW PARAGRAPHS, ESPECIALLY FOR QUOTES
This one goes along with the last one, but it's still different.

IT IS NOT HARD TO PRESS ENTER ONE OR TWO TIMES TO MAKE A NEW PARAGRAPH STOP BEING A LAZY BUTT AND JUST DO ITTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have literally stopped reading books on the first page because of this! Just do it right! It makes people too confused. For example:
"Hello." Zack said. "Oh, hello." I said to him. "Listen, I know you're upset about Freddy and Tomika going to the dance together, but maybe we could go together."
SEE how annoying it is? I'd rather have you have now quotation marks but different paragraphs to differentiate the quotes than that mess above. IT'S NOT HARD TO CLICK THE ENTER KEY TWICE.
That's all folk; this is more of a rant than I wanted it to be, I had to change the title of the chapter lol from "TIPS" to "RANT #2"
But I hoped this helped and I hope you can use my advice for good instead of evil!
