Chapter One : Not A Great Start

Autumns POV:

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I hit snooze.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"Ughhhhh" I moaned.
I turned the alarm clock off and started to get ready for school. It was the first day of junior year and I had no friends. Well that's not entirely true because Ali talks to me sometimes. I grab a flowy yellow tank top and a pair of white shorts and put them on. I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth. I look at myself in the mirror to see my hair is a mess. I brush through it and run downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen to see eggs and toast sitting on the table. My mom probably made it. She leaves everyday at six for work, so does my dad. I start eating my meal and look at the clock on the wall. 6:45. The bus comes in five minutes!!!! I quickly slip on my black flip-flops, grab my back pack and my key, and run out to the bus stop. My hair bounces up and down as a I run to the other end of the sidewalk. I get there just in time and am the last one to get on the bus. I plop down next to Ali and let out a sigh.

"What?" she asks.
"What do you mean what?" I ask.
"Why did you sigh?"
"Oh, I ran all the way here because I realized I was going to be late."
"Oh, ok." She says turning on her phone and getting on Instagram.

Ali is like the second most popular girl in school so sometimes I wonder why she even talks to me like why would someone like her want to be my friend? She has long dirty blond hair that stops at her mid back, she Has bright green eyes, almost every boy in our grade likes her, and she hangs out with all of the popular people!

"Autumn?"she says.
I'm immediately snapped out of my thoughts.
"Yeah?"I say
"You kinda zoned out for a minute there."
"Oh, sorry."
"That's ok."

The Bus Driver slams on the breaks and I fall into the back of the seat in front of me and realize that we're here. Kids start pouring out of the bus and walking into school. I get up and walk of the bus with Ali behind me. We walk into school together, get our schedules and combinations, and find our lockers. Our lockers are on the second level so we climb up the steps. They're one locker apart so we can still talk to each other.

"Let me see your schedule." She says.
"Ok." I reply.
"I have math and science with you"
"Cool" I say.
"I gotta go but I'll see you at lunch!" She says as she turns on her heel and walks off.
"Oh crap" I think.

After Ali leaves I become a nobody. Just another random girl who has no friends and no
life.

"Hey look who it is" Abby yells to me.
"Not again." I whisper to myself.

Abby approaches me with her dumb boyfriend following her like he's on a leash.

"How was your summer? Did you have fun with your boyfriend? Oh I forgot you don't have one!"

Her and her boyfriend start laughing hysterically. So does some of her friends that are close behind.

"You don't need to have a boyfriend to be happy." I said nervously.
"Says the girl who has no friends." She spat back.

An ohhhhhhh rose up from the now forming crowd.

"Oh yeah" I say with a little more confidence now. "Remember the time that you said you would never date Jake cause he was a blithering idiot?"
Abby glared daggers into my eyes and Jake says "Is that true?"
"No it's not, Autumn here is just trying to break us up so she can feel better about herself cause she's depressed.
"I am not!!" I practically screamed.
"Well you should be cause you are just one big ugly mess that should've never been born!" she teased.

Everyone laughed and I ran away with tears in my eyes to my first class.
