Chapter Fourteen: I Know You From Somewhere...

(A/N: Hey guys!! I haven't updated in forever because I've had writers block. This chapters not my best...but oh well. Enjoy the chapter.😊:):))

Autumn's POV:

I wake up in my bed.
Well my bed at headquarters.
It's way more comfortable than my bed at home.
I sit up feeling no pain.
How long have I been out?
Someone knocks on the door.

"Autumn?"
It's Jade.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Can I come in?"

I carefully get out of bed and press the button that opens the door.
It slides open and Jade walks in.

"You feeling any better?" She asks.

I remember Ali setting me free and risking her life for me. She told me to run down the hallway until I reached the door at the end. As I was running I heard her scream, a terrible, piercing scream.
She died for me.

"Um Autumn?"
"Sorry...I was just thinking."
"That's okay." She says giving me a half smile. "But seriously, how are you feeling?"
"Fine."
"That's good."
Wait.
"Um, Jade..?"
She looks at me and says "Yeah?"
"How exactly did I end up back here?"
Jade's eyes widen.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Well....we found Gale's lair and rescued you. But...."
"But what?"
"Um, Nick kinda worked for Gale and Sydney killed him...."
I look at her wide eyed. "WHAT?!?!"
She scratches the back of her neck. "Yeah...."
"Why would Sydney kill him?!?"
"He threatened to kill you while you were unconscious....so she threw a knife at his heart.."
"I-I don't believe it."
Jade looks at her feet and says "I'll let you think it all through."

She walks towards the door and steps through it. The door slides shut behind her. I realize that I'm still in the orange jumpsuit. I walk to the bathroom and look at myself.I look terrible. My hair in a tangled mess, my outfits ripped, and I have dirt all over me. I decide to take a quick shower and change. I now stand by my door in black shorts and a white t-shirt. I walk out into the main room and see Jade and Drew talking to some guy. He's wearing some type of sports shirt and sport shorts, with slides. His hair is a light blond and his eyes an icy blue. I feel like I know him from somewhere.

"Syd! Please let me in!!"

I look over and see Josh knocking on Sydney's door.
I can hear someone crying inside, it's most likely Sydney.

"Autumn!"

I look over at the others and see them motioning for me to come over. I walk over and look at the new guy trying to figure out where I know him from.

"Autumn, this is Jason, he will be staying with us for a bit." Drew says.
Jason smiles then holds out his hand. I shake it.
"He said that he had seen you being dragged by Gale, did you see him?" Jade asks.
I remember the boy before I teleported. So that's where I know him from.
"Yeah." I say.
"Well you guys can talk and stuff, me and Jade gotta go calm down Josh..." Drew says.
"Okay." We both say.

They walk over toward Josh and start reasoning with him.

"Can you explain to me what's happening?" Jason asks.
I turn to face him.
"Honestly, I have no idea what's happening. All I know is that people are going insane, I was captured by Gale, Nick died, and we escaped." I say.
"Oh, well that's better then nothing." He says.
"Yeah." I say.
I look at him and ask "Why did you follow Gale when he was dragging me?"
He looks at me in the eyes "I don't know, I just felt like I had to."
"I hope it didn't cause you anything..." I say.
He looks away from me and says "It did."
"What?"
He looks on the verge of tears. "My parents."
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." I say.
"It's not your fault, and besides they weren't my real parents." He says.
"Were you adopted?"
He nods.
I smile at him. "I was adopted too."
He smiles a little but his eyes are still glossy.

I grab his shoulders and pull him into a hug. I know how he feels, I have no idea where my parents are right now. I feels tears sliding down my face and I start crying. Jason hugs me tighter. Hugging him made me feel like I knew him from somewhere else...

"Um, Autumn, what are you doing?" Drew asks.
I quickly pull away from Jason.
"Just comforting Jason, his parents are well..."

Drew just nods, then goes back to talking to Josh.
Why does he have to make everything awkward?

Sydney's POV:

How could I do that?
How could I kill someone?

"Syd! Please let me in!!" Josh yells repeatedly knocking on my door.

I don't reply, I just sit there crying like there's no tomorrow.
The knocking suddenly stops and I can hear Drew and Jade telling Josh to calm down.

"But Syd's our friend and she needs our support!" He yells at them.
"She obviously doesn't want any!" Jade yells back.
"How do you know?"
"She locked herself in her room! Maybe she wants to be alone!" Jade screams.
"No one wants to be alone!" Josh shouts.

That seemed to shut Jade up because all I can hear is silence.

Jade finally speaks up. "I want to be alone." She whispers.
I hear shoes slapping the ground, the sound getting quieter as the time goes on.
She must've ran to her room

"Um, Autumn what are you doing?" Drew asks.
"Just comforting Jason, his parents are well..." Autumn says.

His parents were dead.
Why is everyone dying?

"Sydney, please open up." Josh whispers through the door.

I get up and open the door. Josh is standing there looking exhausted. Drew stands next to him, but walks away as soon as he sees me.
I run into his arms and give him a huge hug.

"Syd, you shouldn't feel bad." Josh says.
"Bu-but I killed someone." I say.
Hearing the words out of my own mouth just makes me feel worse.
"He was working for Gale and he threatened to kill Autumn." He says in a soothing voice. "No one really liked him anyway." He says laughing a little.
"Yeah." I say looking at my feet. "It doesn't hide the fact that I killed someone, I'm a murderer."

Josh pushes me away from him and pushes my chin up so I'm looking at him.
"Your not a murderer Sydney, if you didn't do that Autumn might've been dead."
I smile a little.
Josh looks over my shoulder and says "It's getting late I should probably go..."
"Yeah." I say trying to release myself from his grasp, but he doesn't let go.
"Goodnight Syd." He says.
"Good-." But before I can finish he places his lips onto mine.

It only lasted for a couple seconds, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
He pushes me back, smiles, then runs toward his room.
I stand in the doorway in shock.
Josh kissed me.
