Chapter Nine: The Rescue?

(I AM SOOOOOO SORRY THAT I HAVENT BEEN UPDATING!!! MY MOM TOOK MY I PAD AWAY AND I JUST GOT IT BACK TODAY! AGAIN IM SORRY BUT ENJOY THE CHAPTER;):))

Autumn's POV:

Teleportation isn't fun. Let's just say we ended up in a dog pile, with me on the bottom. I tried to push the person on top of me off, but that didn't work. Did they pass out or something? Suddenly a little weight is lifted off of me. Someone must've got up. Another person gets up and then one more. I let out a sigh of relief. Someone offers their hand to me and they pull me up. It was Drew.

"Thanks." I say.
"Welcome." He says.

I realize that I'm still holding his hand and quickly pull it away.

"Guys." Jade says.
"What." We all say turning around.
"Do you see this?"

In front of me is a beautiful log cabin with a lake beside it. In front of the door is a welcome mat. Beside the door is a doorbell with a smiley face on it. Jade presses it and "Happy" by Pharell Williams started playing. Jade looked disgusted. A click comes from the inside and a girl steps out. She's wearing a smiley face dress that goes down to her knees, a pair of yellow heels, and her hair is braided down her back. She smiles at us and motions for us to come in. As I walk past her I notice that her eyes change from blue to green. Weird. Inside is a staircase in the the center of the room with two hallways on either side. The girl closes the door behind us and smiles again. Wow this girl smiles too much.

"Welcome to my humble home." She says. "My names Amber."
"Hi." Josh says. "Have you seen a girl named Sydney?"
She smiles and says "Oh yes of course." Then she giggles.
"Where is she?" Josh asks.
"She's upstairs, now come with me and we'll get a snack."
"What about Sydney?"
"Oh, um she's getting a makeover."
"Okay?"
"We'll go get her after our snack. Now follow me."

Amber skips down the hallway on the left. We follow her and find a ginormous kitchen. Jade's jaw drops open. She goes over to the fridge and pulls out a bowl of strawberries. She places them on the table and tells us to come and sit down. I sit down next to Amber and Jade sits down next to me. I grab a strawberry and eat it. They're really good.

"So." Drew says with a strawberry in his mouth.

Amber looks at him and blushes. Drew blushes too causing the strawberry to drop out of his mouth. Amber giggles and Drew blushes even harder. This makes me want to kill Amber for some reason, but why?

"Your silly." Amber says.
"Yeah, I know." He says and smiles.

After all of the strawberries are gone Josh immediately speaks up.

"Can we go see Sydney now?!?"
"Yes of course." Amber says.

We walk back towards the staircase and Amber runs up the stairs, with Josh on her tail. Jade walks up after Josh acting like an annoyed older sister. I start to walk up the stairs and hear Drew's footsteps behind me. When I get to the top of the steps Josh and Jade are standing there looking at something but I can't see what it is. I walk up to them and gently push Josh's shoulder so I can get past them. What. The. Heck.

Sydney's POV:

I slide through the bars and watch Nick pick the lock. The door clicks open and he walks out. I follow him and the door shuts behind me. We're standing in a dimly lit hallway that seems to go on forever both ways. I look at Nick.

"Ok, so now form an air bubble around us and then flood the house, we can navigate our way out from there." Nick says.
"Ok." I say.

I form the air bubble around us and use the lake outside as a source. Suddenly gallons and gallons of water come rushing in through a nearby window, pushing the bubble down the hallway. It was awesome until I saw the captor lady holding Jade by her hair. I tried to stop the water but it didn't work. Drew, Autumn, and Josh tried to run down the stairs but the water caught up to them and they disappeared underneath. The captor seemed to have disappeared and Jade was trying to tread water. Over to my left I see Drew fly out of the water carrying Autumn who looked unconscious. He flew up to the ceiling trying to avoid he water but it was rising fast. Wait, where's Josh? I move the bubble underneath the water and see Josh trying to get to the surface but he can't. I move toward him and reach my hand through the bubble and pull him in. He starts gasping for air. He sits down and let's out a sigh.

"I'm soooo sorry." I say.
"It's okay." He says between breaths.
"Let's go save the others!" Nick says.

I make the bubble go to the surface and I see that Jade's face is pressed up against the ceiling. She is about to be submerged and I grab her hand and pull her into the bubble. She says a quick thanks, then sits down next to Josh. The whole room is filled with water now and I can't find Drew and Autumn. I look around and then spot them. Drew is holding Autumn and he looks panicked. He spots me and gives me a look that says help me! I go over to them and pull them in. Autumn collapses on the bottom of the bubble and Drew sits next to her.

"Why'd she pass out?" I ask.
"Well, fire and water don't like each other that much..." Drew says.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I say feeling guilty.
"It's okay." Jade, Drew, and Josh say.
It's quiet for a moment until Jade says "Where do you think Amber went?"
"I have no clue, the last time I saw her she was a demon thing." Drew says.
"Who's Amber?" I ask.
"The girl who captured you." Jade says.
"Oh that girl." I say.
Another silence.
"What do we do?" Josh asks.
"Um, we can try to break the door, but all of us need to do it." I say.
"On the count of three we'll ram into the door."
"One."
"Two."
"Three!"

The door is knocked down and tons of water come pouring out. I make it go back into the lake and then pop the bubble. Autumns still unconscious and Josh still looks paralyzed. I walk over to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"Josh?" I ask.
"Yeah?" He says looking back at me
"I'm so sorry." I say.
He chuckles then says "You already said that."
"Yeah I guess I did."

He gets up and hugs me, his arms are strong which makes me feel safe so I hug him back. He kisses me on the forehead and walks over to Jade. I start smiling and can't stop. Why can't I stop smiling?

Drew's POV:

I hold Autumn in my arms as we teleport back. This time we all stay standing. I take her into the mini hospital and place her on one of the beds. I sit in a chair beside the bed and look at her. She looks so calm when she sleeps. I hear the door slide open behind me. I look back and see Josh.

"I'll take it from here." He says.
"Ok." I say.

As walk out I feel the urge to go back in there. I ignore it and walk into my room. I stare at the ceiling as I try to fall asleep. I just can't. I decide to go visit Autumn. I make it to the mini hospital and see Autumn in her bed, still sleeping. I sit in the chair again and watch her chest rise up and down until I fall asleep.
