Chapter Thirteen: Betrayal

Amber's POV:

My eyes shoot open.
I look around and see that I'm still in the dimly lit room.
I try to sit up but pain shoots through me.
The knife.
I wrap my hands on it and yank it out. I scream and throw the knife across the room. I place my hand over the wound and slowly sit up. My eyes well up with tears and I start crying.
I'm going to die.
I continue to cry for what seem like forever then I hear a click.
A girl runs in through the door then quickly closes it and does something on the control panel. She turns around and when she sees me she gasps. She approaches me and looks at me in a concerning way.

"What happened?!?!?" She asks.
I open my mouth and try to speak but I start crying instead.

She crouches down and pulls my hands off my side. I bring my hands up to my face and look at them.
Blood covers every inch of them.
I look up at the girl and recognize her as one of the people who visited my house. Did she recognize me? If she did then she must've forgot about what happened.....

She looks at me with a grim expression and says "I'm sorry bu-" she's cut off by a loud thump.

I turn my head toward the where the noise came from and see that the door had been knocked down. In the door stood none other than Gale. He looked furious. The girl who had been crouching quickly stood up.

"You thought you could escape me?" He asks. "Well guess what, you can't."

Suddenly his hands turn black and Gale looks almost demon like. He laughs evilly and aims his hands at the girl. Instead of cowering, she lifts her hands up so that they face Gale. Her hands erupt with fire and her eyes turn a deep red.

"I won't let you win." She states.
He looks at her and says "Autumn, don't you realize that I have about ten times the power you have. There's no doubt about my victory."
Autumn shrugs then says "It doesn't mean that I can't try."

What happens next is blinding, literally.
They both shoot at each other and all I can see is a bright light.
It's so bright that I black out, again.

Nick's POV:

They all looked at me in disbelief.

"What?" I ask them trying to sound innocent.
"What do you mean what?!?!" Drew says.
"How in the world do you know where Gale's lair is?" Jade asks.
"Well...I have been searching all over for it and I finally found it."
They look unconvinced.
"Okay...." Drew says.
Silence.
"Are we just gonna sit here and wait?" I say. "Or are we going to get out there and show Gale what we got?!"

I say the location of the lair into the teleporter and quickly jump in. As soon as I'm in I race down the hallway and find myself in Gale's throne room. He's not there. I ask one of the guards where he is.

"He ran down that way." He says pointing down a hallway.
"Thanks." I say.

I run down the hallway until I reach a hole at the end of the hallway. At one point there was a door there, but now it lies on the ground. Inside, two figures stand facing each other readying themselves for battle. The girl's hands are on fire so it's obviously Autumn. The others hands are like black holes, it could only be Gale. I notice a girl lying behind Autumn looking near death. All of the sudden, a blinding light shrouds the room. I shield my eyes knowing if I didn't I would've gone blind. When I open them again I see that both Gale and Autumn are knocked out on the ground.
How did Autumn do that?
She was obviously wounded, and Gale is like ten times more powerful then her.
I realize that Gale is now towering over me looking disappointed.
I really do get lost in my thoughts.

"You failed." He says.
I gulp then say "I know...but I'll do it next time."
He shakes his head "There is no next time."
"What?"
"I will be eliminating them myself since you can't do it yourself."
"But-"
"No buts, you failed me and that's that. Now go put Autumn and Amber back in their cells."
I sigh then say "Yes master."

Josh's POV:

Gale sure did like his lair dark.
The five of us walk down the long dark hallway until we reach a giant room.

"This must be his throne room." Jade says staring up at the giant throne.
"Yeah." Drew says.

I feel Sydney grab my hand.
She looks straight ahead acting like nothing happened.
I smile.
It slowly fades when I see Nick dragging Autumn and....Amber?
Both of them are unconscious

"Nick!!" Drew yells.
He turns around to face us then starts running.
Drew chases him and we follow.

"Get back here!" Jade screams.
"Never!" He yells back.

We reach the end of the hallway, Nicks cornered. He grabs a knife from his pocket and puts it to Autumn's neck.

"If you try anything I'll kill her." He says.
Would he really kill her?
"Nick, why would you turn on us?" I ask.
"Because you guys are lame."He says.

I look over at Jason and he looks terrified.
Can't blame him though.
Without any warning Sydney throws her dagger at Nick's chest, in the dead middle.
He screams then collapses on the ground.
The knife clattering on the stone.
