After a while I find a nice pair of heels to go with the dress and I go to dinner. Noah and I talk about his duties and ate a wonderful soup made with potatoes, bacon, kale and chili flavors. I found a library and read for a few hours prior to going back to my room and going to bed, exhausted from the chaos in my life.

I wake up after what seems to be an eternity of sleeping but really it was only 8 hours. The beds here in the castle are so much more comfortable than back at the cottage. I have slept better here in the last 2 days than the last 2 years. I stare out the window for a bit thinking about the kid from yesterday, I wonder who he is, who his father is. Maybe I'll see his dad today, not that I'll know it's him. Maybe I should ask Noah about him. He'll probably be furious from the way he treated me, it's nice that he cares so much about me. He's the first person I can remember that has, mother know that I know what she did, I can tell she was only using me. She never truly loved me for me.

I wonder how they will act, the guards. Will they be surprised or angry, will they accept me or tell me I'm only a little girl? I guess I'll find out soon. I get up and go about my day, breakfast with Noah, then I explore till its about an hour time before the meeting. As I walk across the lawn of the garden, I can see the guards gathered together talking, gossiping like school children. I walk into the captains office, off to the side of their quarters and wrinkle my nose in distaste, the door was wide open but as soon as you walk in the room it smells like alcohol.

Strong potent alchol, I really hope he's not a drunk, maybe he had drinks with some buddies after work? I see multiple glasses on the table all empty. I knock on the wall... hello?  Is anyone here? The office is not super large but there is a private room behind the main desk area for private meetings it's possible he is in there. I wait a few more minutes no answer, I sigh and walk back to my room. Nobody is standing by door so I open it myself and walk over to the balcony. I stare at the garden for a bit, I have to leave soon if I want to make it before the guards.

My door open behind me, two people walk in completely lost within one another. They don't notice me. One a maid, she probably 5'5 her cheeks are flushed and she's panting quietly, "they won't find us here, nobody has lived in this room for years" she gasps out as her friend attacks her neck. He's not nearly as flushed as her but to my surprise it's a guard. One the same guards I should be addressing in half an hour, I stare at them in shock. They begin kissing one another and franticlly striping their clothes when I snap out of my stupor. I quickly make my way out of the room, back over to the garden.

Before walking out the door I look at a nearby clock, 20 minutes till the meeting. I walk back down the hill and stand near the training grounds, not a single guard is on them so I can see all the sparing ground, the arena everything. Some younger looking boys were the first to arrive maybe 5 minutesafter me. I could tell they were lower rank from a mile away, nervous and shaking, ties ruffled and pins not quite in order. I'm guessing they were the trainees that went to sure where to go and they just hovered around mindlessly. More guards showed up, maybe the basic they were more informed then the trainees, had a nervous sir around them, probably nervous to see the prince. Not one of them had said a word to me yet, a few nod there head politely but that's it. The newest arrivals I notice all have freshly ironed clothes, polished boots and seem to be dressed to impress. The last avails were the older guards, not elderly by any means most in their 30's or 40's, Shoulders back, head up they walked together in formation over to the training grounds where everyone else was. The rest of the guard quickly snaped to attention with the older arrivals, almost all chatter halted and everyone was quickly in formation.

They stayed that way for a few minutes before some if the higher rank guards released them. Quite chatter resumed and that's when trouble started. The lower officers were fine, there was still a few minutes before the meeting started so they talked quietly, doing everything they could so negative attention didn't come to them. The higher officer were watching them like hawks trying to find every mistake, less they get blamed for it when the prince arrives. That's when he noticed me, one of them saw me and decided I wasn't meant to be there.

So he grabbed me, and started to scold me. He told me the officers quarters were to the left and I shouldn't be trying to sneak into meetings that were far beyound my "simple minded brain". He started to pull me away from the area when Noah showed up. At first nobody's saw him, he wasn't surrounded be guards since they were all already here, one by one they noticed his presence. Snapping to attention the soldiers were quickly in formation some younger kids looking faint, it's not everyday you see the prince so close. The guard that was holding me stood at attention, and when he saw my lack bow to the prince, he grabbed my shoulders and pushed me to my knees. Noah walked by all the rows of soldiers as expected, stopping and noting various parts of the stance that were incorrect. A few times he corrected them outright, fixing their hand positioning or telling them to straighten up. When he got to the front of the rows, he saw me, at first it was a gradual recognition but then he realized who I was and walked briskly over to my kneeling figure. He held out his hand and helped me rise, when I was fully standing he bowed him head and knelt down, "Your majesty".

The guards looked shocked at the situation, but they quickly followed his lead and knelt too. They couldn't hear what he had said, nobody did except for me and the rude guard who is now kneeling near my side obviously really confused. Much like what he did for me I hold my hand out for Noah to rise. He stands with his head bowed, 'you can look at me' I whisper, he looks at me with confusion, glancing at me and then the guard. The rest of the guards were still kneeling as protocol states, I nod for Noah to tell them to rise, he does and they are back in formation saluting.

"State your name and title", Noah addresses to the soldier.
"Sergeant Noah Smith, your majesty", he tells us.
"Who is your commanding officer Sergeant?"
"Captain Richard, sir"
"I see, go back to your assigned position." Noah tells the Sergeant.
"Yes, sir." He stands up and bows to Noah, then walks over to his assigned position in the formation and kneels once more.

My brother turns back to me and asks if we can proceed with the meeting, he can be dealt with later. I wholeheartedly agree this is not the time nor the place, they need to know who I am so these incidents do not happen again. I nod my head in agreement and Noah turns back to the kneeling soldiers, you may stand.

"As you may know the late King and Queen had a daughter who went missing during her first birthday party. The king and queen seachered for her for days but couldn't find her, they handed the search off to me before they went on a trip for their anniversary and had the accident. I was appointed temporarily control over the kingdom until the princess was found or her 21st birthday has passed. The search for the princess ran on quietly until most of the kingdom became unaware of her existence, many believing she died with her parents in the accident. The search in now over and the kingdom can once more live in peace, Princess Isadora has been found!"

Disbelief and happiness was felt throughout the guards, the princess was found! Many had been young privates at the time of her disappearance and even more had taken part in searching for her. They had all been questioned by the king, personally as he tried to find the traitor who helped kidnapp his daughter. Great sadness was felt throughout the royal guard, when she had been lost. A select few of the younger guards had got to meet her, when they assisted her parents. A lower guard started to clap, unable to contain his excitement, cutting off the Prince's speech. He only laughed and said yes, this is a very happy event for the kingdom. He motioned to the girl that had been standing next to him the entire speech, the one that he had kneeled to earlier. I am happy to introduce you all to Princess Isadora, the rightful heir to the kingdoms of both Neverlasting and Everlasting!
