I woke up covered in sweat, and everything was sticky. My senses came back to me, and I was on my couch. Something smelled absolutely rank, and I was sure it was something in my kitchen. Whatever. I can just live in my own filth for a while. I briefly looked for my phone, but found it on the coffee table in front of me.

"It's 2:30 PM? What is my sleep schedule?" I asked myself, laying back onto the couch, by head pounding.

~

"Hi Kuroo!" I heard a loud voice from the door, and knew who it was immediately.

"Bokuto... why are you here?" I mumbled groggily, having woken up a solid 5 seconds ago.

"I came to say hi, but your apartment is a mess. It smells like shit." Bokuto sneered, and I wanted to protest, but didn't have the energy. "Are you good?"

"No" I shoved my face into my pillow. I didn't want to talk, especially when he snuck into my house.

"You can go back to sleep. I'll deal with this." Bokuto walked over, and patted my head.

"Take care of what?"

"Your apartment." He laughed, and I sat up, my head still pounding. He walked back to the kitchen, and called someone.

"Hey!! Can you come over to Kuroo's for a bit?" He asked the person on the phone, and I could only picture one person he could be talking to. "Ok! See you in a few." He looked back at me, "I'll make you something to eat once I clean our kitchen."

"Ok." I pulled out my phone, and started scrolling as I heard Bokuto get to work.

A few minutes later, Akaashi walked through the door, and Bokuto was overjoyed. I felt bad, but I really didn't feel like cleaning, so I let them clean as much as they wanted.

~~ blah blah blah cleaning blah blah blah~~

"We're done, Kuroo." Akaashi walked over to where I was still laying, and I looked around.

"You guys should do this for money." I chuckled, the space entirely spotless.

"Hey Kuroo, have you talked to Kenma recently?" Bokuto walked over.

"Yeah, it was chill. We didn't talk about much." I shrugged.

"Nice, nice,"

"What's this about Kenma?" Akaashi obviously wasn't informed.

"I reconnected with him a few days ago, that's all."

"You guys were the talk of the school when you were graduating." He laughed quietly.

"Were we?" I noticed Bokuto being unusually quiet, and looked over to see him just looking at Akaashi. Now this was new. "Bokuto, what was your love life like in high school?" I asked.

"Uh... It was interesting!" He chuckled, and the subject was smoothly changed to something more fun. For me, at least.

~

I stared at the ceiling, and noticed the small details of it that I had never seen before. I really needed to get a life. My online job caused me to become a hermit and never do anything with anyone unless forced to.

I thought about Kenma, and how we were so close. Would we ever have that again? I pulled myself out of my thoughts, and brought myself to my room, changing into running clothes quickly.

It was raining. Hard. The best running weather.

I started running slower, then built up to a faster pace, not tracking anything, and just letting myself go. I ran until I was wheezing, and all I could think about was getting air. I ran until all I could do was keep running.

I stopped to walk and turn back, and my legs felt like jelly.

"This is what I want." I smiled to myself, feeling the runners high going through my body. "I should go back though."

And so I ran back. Not as fast, but more triumphantly. I'm not sure how far I went, or how long it was for, but I was glad I went on that run, because it reset my brain. It made everything seem achievable.

But obviously, that wasn't entirely true.
