I walked into Kenmas house, and said hi to his mom before going up the stairs into his room.
"Hey Kenma" I greeted him.
"Hi Kuro," he barely looked up from his game.
"Whatcha playing?" I tried to start a conversation.
"I dunno." He was in the trance of his game. I reached over quickly and took it out of his hands. He gave me a death glare, and tried to grab it back out of my hands. I held it as high as possible sitting down, and he gave up.
"Are you serious? You're addicted to this stuff." I laughed, and he groaned.
"I know." He laid on the floor of his room. I scooted over next to him, and he sat up.
"Do you think November is too early to celebrate Christmas?" He randomly asked.
"No" I was baffled by the random question. "Why do you ask?"
"No reason." He deadpanned.
"Alright." I paused. "What do you want to talk about?"
"I don't know. What's on your mind?""Honestly," I hesitated, "College."
"Nice."
"I've just been thinking about how I have to go somewhere, and also how we would have to be in a long distance relationship, and it's scary." I thought out loud, and Kenma sighed loudly.
"Actually, I don't want to talk about this." He groaned.
"Why?" I was confused.
"Because I don't want to think about you going away." He sounded downhearted.
"Well it's gotta happen, so talking about it shouldn't be something we dread." I retorted, but I could see where he was coming from.
"Still. I don't want to get too far into the future and lose the time we have now." He raised his voice slightly.
"I guess. I have a future though. I need to leave at some point, and I don't want that to ruin what we have." My tone became more moody, and Kenma just sat there.
"Of course you have a future, asshole. I just think that the future you're talking about is in the distant future, and isn't something to worry about right now."
"Yeah, ok." I fought the urge to keep talking about it.
"What do you want to do for our one year anniversary?" I asked, completely changing the subject.
"I dunno. Something I guess." His answer to the question changed drastically from last time.
"Do you want to make something for lunch?" I offered, and without words he got up and started walking to the door.
"Yes. We have boxed mac and cheese." He opened the door, and kept walking. We got downstairs, and then went into the kitchen, pulling out a pot and the mac and cheese.

I sat down at the table with a fresh bowl of mac and cheese, and it smelled heavenly. Kenma had pretty much made the whole thing himself, and I felt bad for not contributing as much as I probably should've. I scooped a piece of mac and cheese into my mouth, and it was as heavenly as it smelled. It was single handedly the best mac and cheese I had ever tasted.
"Kuroo, stop making that face. You look stupid." Kenma scowled from the other side of the table.
"It's so good though!!" I retorted, and he started eating his portion.
"Well I'm glad you like it." He sighed, and my mood depleted a little bit.
"I've gotta get home soon." I announced, and he nodded. We finished eating quickly, putting our dishes in the sink when we finished. I walked to the door, and he followed.
"Alright see you tomorrow!" I smiled.
"Yep. Bye." He closed the door behind me, and I got chills as I stepped out into the cold January air. I didn't actually have to leave. I was thinking to myself more than I should've been as I got in my car, and started driving home.
