1 year later

"Hey Kuro look at this " Kenma called to me, and I looked at him, and then at what he was looking at. It was a painting of a rose, with pink and red hues dotting the petals.

"I should make something like that for you for your birthday." I smiled, half joking, and he rolled his eyes,

"You could never do that."

"Watch me." I challenged, and he lightly chuckled.

"Let's get out of here" Kenma leaned against my shoulder.

"Sure. Coffee?" My heart was warm.

"Yes please." We walked into the city and through the streets, until we finally found a coffee shop and went inside.

"It's so cold out there." I shivered.
"Seriously." His teeth were chattering.

"Do you want my sweatshirt?" I asked, and he went pink.

"Yeah, I guess..."

"Kenma we have been dating for almost a year. This shouldn't be this awkward." I laughed, and gave him my sweatshirt. We walked up to the cash register, and the girl taking orders smiled at us before asking for our order.

"I'll have a hot pumpkin spice chai tea latte please" I said, and she nodded.

"I'll get the same thing." Kenma added.

"Is that all?"

"Yes." She nodded, and motioned to the card reader. I paid for it and we sat down at a small table together.

"Do you think we should celebrate one year?" Kenma looked at me, and I thought about it for a second.

"Sure! A nice dinner or something would be nice." I shrugged, and he looked at me like I was insane.

"There's so much more that we could do than a nice dinner. How about a picnic or a short road trip?" He scowled.

"Ooh I like the road trip idea." I smiled, and he looked happy again. The girl at the counter put the two cups at the pickup area, and I stood up and got them for us.

"Do you want to stay here or go somewhere else?" Kenma asked.

"Let's go somewhere. I'm bored." I lied, internally beaming at the idea of a trip for our 1 year. We walked out of the coffee shop, and into the cold weather. We walked for like five minutes before finding a small park, and then sitting on a bench. The cold winter wind was beating on my face, but my warm tea was what kept me warm.

"This is good weather." Kenma looked very cozy.

"It's interesting. I like the warm drink cold weather combo." I laughed, and Kenma looked out at the snow.

"Whatcha thinking about?" I got closer to him, and he snapped out of whatever trance he was in.

"I don't know, next year." He looked stressed. I put my arm around him, and gave him a warm bench-hug.

"Don't worry about that. We can figure it out when it happens." I wasn't really talking to Kenma as much as I was talking to myself. I didn't know what to do, or how I was going to do anything. I was also worried about leaving Kenma by himself, and the idea of going long distance was unsettling.

"I guess. What's on your mind?" He leaned his head on my shoulder.

"I don't know. Nothing much." I lied, my mind now racing with a bunch of different things.

"That's such a lie. You're a third year. Something has to be on your mind." He was onto something.

"Some third years just don't think." I laughed, and he chuckled.

"That's true."

"Let's go back to my house". I said, and we got up, again walking through the cold winter afternoon.
