Chapter 9

Josh's POV

As I drank my daily morning coffee a smile spread over my face.

After last night, I was sure I could get Liz to fall in love with me.

She may be tough and guarded but when it came to the real thing she was sweet and innocent. I noticed in the way that she kissed me yesterday next to the bonfire; while at the waterfall she had been sexy and seductive, at night she was tender and gentle.

I liked both sides of her, but personally I liked the latter better.

She was like a time bomb though; I had to be careful how I approached or I would set her off and she will closed herself to me and that is something I don't want...

Liz's POV

I woke up by my cell phone's alarm so that meant it was 5:30am and we started filming at 6:30am.

I looked at my iPhone's screen and noticed I had an unread text message from Josh.

'Good morning beautiful! Hope you slept well. Can't wait to film with you today :)- Josh'

I smiled to myself and got up to get ready because for some reason I couldn't wait to see him either. 

As soon as I went to the filming set I looked all around for Josh, that is until someone covered my eyes with their hands and since I was walking and now was temporarily blinded, I tripped with some kind of cable but whoever was behind me caught me before I fell and then I heard a familiar chuckle on my ear.

"Am I gonna have to wrap you in bubble wrap to keep you safe?" he asked but I could hear a smile on his voice.

"I'm a little clumsy since birth.... and it doesn't help that you like surprising me" I pouted.

He laughed again and when I tried turning around to face him, his arms circled my waist and he held me tightly in an embrace.

"Why won't you let me face you? Do you look ugly in the morning?" I asked with a smile on my face that he couldn't see.

"Assuming that the answer to that question is yes, does that mean I'm not ugly during the day and night?" he asked intently and I laughed out loud.

"C'mon answer me" he prompted as he nuzzled my cheek. I almost told him to stop doing that but then he would ask why and I was not going to let him know that being this close to him made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

"Not going to happen, you'll have to live with the doubt" I answered as I forced myself to pay attention to the conversation instead of how good it felt to have him close.

At that moment Michael arrived and when he spotted us and noticed we were in this type of close embrace he seemed surprised and shocked. Then in a quick moment he recovered and pretended this was completely normal. I felt my cheeks heating up and I pulled myself away from Josh. This time it was him who turned me around to face him, hurt in his expression.

"Are you embarr-" he started and when he looked at me, really looked, the hurt was gone and he smiled. "You're blushing" he stated and grinned wider.

"Glad I can amuse you" I muttered and he laughed loudly.

"I'm sorry....I'm enjoying this too much" he apologized.

"Good for you" I spat and he laughed even harder before stepping closer and taking my face in his hands.

"Take it easy tiger" he said before placing a soft kiss on my lips.

I swallowed the urge to sigh contentedly and walked away, leaving him guessing as to what was going through my mind.

If he only knew that not even I had an idea....

Josh's POV

Everything was fine for the rest of the day. We filmed three scenes without a problem. Michael had been right, Liz was a very talented actress. It was scary though because I kept thinking, what if she decided to use her acting skills on me again, like at the beginning?

Would I be able to trust her knowing how good she was pretending to be someone she's not?

All this was going through my mind as we went to eat late lunch (because it was 3:00pm already).

"So what do you want to eat?" she asked quickly as she sat down and picked up the Menu.

"I don't know what about you?" I asked slowly, trying to stay focused on the present and not on the future... or the past for that matter.

"Anything as long as it's edible. I'm starving!" she exclaimed dramatically and I couldn't help but laugh.

"That's something I don't hear girls say everyday" I joked and she snorted.

"Well, I'm not any girl, plus, I have Spanish heritage soo food (good food) it's like sacred and very important to me. Then there is that whole thing of me hoping I'll grow up a little bit more because seriously I don't want to be 5'2" for the rest of my life.... especially since when we get old, we become shorter...oh my God, I would be like a dwarf or something, can you imagine? anyways.... I would be nothing without food" she finished with a hand on her heart like reciting a love poem...

I cracked up and she looked offended, "I'm so sorry.... I just... I can't..." I stuttered between chuckles.

"Glad I could amuse and entertain you" she muttered but then ended up smiling at me.

"So are you ready to tell me what's been on you mind for a while?" she asked out of the blue and I instantly stopped laughing.

"What?" I asked surprised.

"I'm a lot of things Josh, distracted is one of them but I'm not stupid and you've been burning neurons all afternoon so what's up?" she questioned and I just stared at her.

"You surprise me you know, it seems as if you were in your own little world all the time but you actually pay attention to details...." I stated and she shrugged.

"Yeah, I notice things, like for example, I noticed how you tried to change the subject" she said with a smile and I laughed.

"Good job.... well I'm just thinking about you know.... you" I boldly confessed.

"What about me?" she asked as the waiter brought bread-sticks while we waited for our food, and she took one and started at it.

"Still waiting" she said after she finished chewing the first bite and this time I sighed, let's see where this goes....
