First off- thank you for 600 reads!!!😍🙏

I'm so sorry I don't post yesterday! I had a dance it it knocked all the energy out of me 😖

Ever since that- inconvenience, robin and I hadn't spoken once. We kept our distance, finding it awkward after the brutal situation. We only had two classes together thank god, but they were crucial and mortifying.

Of course I saw him all the time at home, but we silently promised to never talk to each other again.

Which is why when we'd see each other, we'd either stare at each other or walk the opposite direction.

I was on my way to school, when I heard someone catch up to me.  I looked back, thinking it was it a bully. It was griffin.

"Hey finney boy!" He said, scrambling up to me quickly. I slowed down along the dark side walk, waiting for the shorter boy to catch up. "We're going to a drive-in tonight, wanna come?" He asked, his curls bouncing as he walked.

I knew dad would be home tonight. The smell of plain alcohol in general, and the damp smell of the dirty house and the lingering odor would fill the air.
He would come up with any reason to beat me.

Gwen, though, would not be home, so my old man wouldn't be hurting her. "Yea, sure." I spoke, flaring at the mouth of deciding I would leave him there alone.

I just hoped he wouldn't do anything stupid. "But, who's gonna be there?" I questioned, turning down into the school sidewalk. The yard was filled with bottles and cigarettes, the atrocious smell of weed filling the air.

"Umm, I know Vance, Billy, and Bruce are coming, but I'm not sure if Donna will be there." He explained, walking into the school and finding his locker, sticking his books inside.

His eyes meet to someone's to the right of us, so I swung my head over to see. It was robin.

His long, dark brown hair was pulled into a low pony tail, his infamous bandana hanging from his blue jean pocket. He had an intriguing scowl on his face, slowly walking over to me and griffin. Griffin stepped out of the way, pulling me close to let him pass.

He didn't stop. Not to even look at me or anything, he just kept moving. His goons followed him, eyeing me with confusion. Matty made a threatening gesture, before moving on and catching up with Robin.

When they were completely out of sight, griffin sighed in relief. He had a anxious look plastered on his face, frowning slightly. "Why'd he look so pissed?" Griffin tampered, gulping pleadingly.

We started walking to class, answering his question. "I don't know, but I'm sure lucky he's not mad at us." I laughed nervously, walking into science before continuing, "Well, I'll see you later griffin, thanks for the company!" I staggered, moving to my seat.

"Anytime. I'll see you tonight!" I heard him yell, before walking off to his class.
