"Can I speak?"
The ginger asked as everyone was arguing about where he was going.
Which team he was joining the other coaches suddenly recruited him towards theirs.
He felt bad but he has already chosen to join the Crows as he got inspired by the three Seniors who have helped him to understand the sport more.
"I will join the Karasuno volleyball team because I want to."
After saying those words, the other coaches were disappointed but they did not hold any grudge against that choice of his, as he did choose to be with the Crows first.
Coach Ukai proudly gave the ginger a handshake as he agrees of letting him on his team.
The Crows couldn't help but get excited as they can't wait to train the young bird.
But someone suddenly asks the ginger a question.
A personal one.
"Where are your wings?"
It was the blonde-haired freshman with glasses from his class.
The boy stared at the short male with suspicion as he did remember seeing the tangerine having cat ears and now it suddenly disappeared.
Another blonde then speaks up for the ginger as he stood in front of the short male.
"We'll tell you why but not where there are people from the other team around."
Akiteru said with a serious face as he protects the tangerine.
Udai and Saeko went beside the ginger as they did not want any other people to know his dark past.
Shoyo felt glad knowing that there are people who will protect him from such small harm.
He's a God.
He doesn't even need protection, but because they do not know that then it was still the greatest thing for him to receive.
The blonde glasses boy frowned before walking out from the main court as his loyal friend follows behind him.
Akiteru sighed as he looked at the coach to signal to him that they need to have some privacy.
He nods in agreement and told all of the Crows to meet up at their locker room to talk.
Shoyo follows behind all of them as they went to a white and orange colored room in the back rooms of the stadium.
As they all gathered including the 3 Seniors, the ginger instantly explains his physical disability.
Not having wings is like not having an arm, you feel incomplete without them.
"Ms.Kiyoko found me in the streets while I escaped from getting taken away by some captors... (True)"
The tangerine thought of telling half the truth and half a lie for him to make an excuse.
"I no longer have my wings when she found me... And because she knows magic very well... She gave me a bracelet to change myself into a feline by having fake cat ears to get into the Academy... And that's why..."
Most of the listeners felt heartbroken hearing about such a sad past from the young boy.
While some are still suspicious of the illegal actions that he did.
There is a law that says; no being shall change their physical appearance to merge with the other Animalia as it is a sin from God by doing so.
Switching your animal body parts is a crime.
Because there are people who did that and they did the evilest thing they could ever do to their fellow populace.
But hearing his story wasn't enough.
"Give us evidence that you were once an Ave."
This time it was a black-haired male with dark blue eyes who asked him to show it to them.
He also thought that the ginger was a tabby cat, and so were most of their classmates.
As all of the freshmen know most of the class by now.
The 3 Seniors felt a sudden urge to punch the kid for asking such a personal question as they have seen the most painful scar they do not want to see in their entire lives.
Shoyo smiled as he turns his back for everyone to see.
He then lifts his shirt revealing two huge scars on his back.
And it was located beside his two wing bones.
He heard gasps and groans as he lifted his uniform.
Putting his shirt back down he looked at everyone and was still smiling.
"Don't worry... I don't feel anything from it anymore..."
He reassured everyone but they were still wearing painful expressions as they can't believe having such scars on their own back.
"It must have hurt as hell..."
A player said with a sad expression.
Two of his friends began bawling their eyes out as they felt anger and sadness from his experience.
It was Saeko-san's brother and his friend Nishinoya.
"Don't worry kid! We will kill those people who did this to you! We will give you the revenge you need!"
The two said as they hugged the tangerine.
The 3 seniors could only chuckle and smile as they felt relieved knowing that these people will protect the tangerine if they are away.
The black-haired male who asked him to show his back immediately apologizes to him as he only asked that on his own teammate's behalf.
And the tangerine replied with no problem as he knew that they all will have doubts if he won't show any evidence.
It's just a simple request for him.
As he does not remember the nightmare his companion was talking about, it was a good thing.
But he did feel embarrassed and ashamed for showing such an ugly scar.
Maybe that's how he must have felt before as well as God.
Having such imperfections does not match a God.
As people have always worshipped him as a perfect being with no flaws or imperfections.
Maybe that's why his past self chose to forget those memories to be free from the people's beliefs about him.
Because knowing it now makes him feel uncomfortable in a way that he just left his position as their God to become one of the mortals.
"Really... I'm fine..."
Truthfully.
"I'm not fine..."
