Chapter 1: The Brothers

Flowing water really is one of the most comforting things. It's so careless and free, it's all one unit. No one gets to shine brighter than the others, they all simply have a job to do and they do it. And all that is, go with the flow. I can't really get upset about someone shining brighter than me. I don't really do anything too great in the first place. My brother Mario goes on these amazing adventures but I never bothered to tag along. I don't like hurting anyone or anything..... I guess I don't mind it, I sometimes go to the castle with Mario and he cherishes his beloved Princess Peach, there is another princess. Her name is Daisy, I try and keep my distance from here ever since Peach had a little to much to drink and accidentally told me Daisy had a thing for me.

Don't get me wrong she's pretty and she's also a princess so why wouldn't I be flattered and jump at the opportunity to be with here. Well, I more envy her and Peach more than lust over them. They get to be so feminine and aren't expected to go on any adventures or hurt anything. Mario knows, he kept bothering me about going on adventures. Out of a bit of rage I snapped, I told him not every man can be strong and go on adventures, not every man loves women. He's the only one who knows, and I really am grateful to him. He hasn't told anyone else and he also hasn't been harsh towards me at all. He always wanted to protect me but after I came out to him his over protectiveness was unmatched. He's
probably freaking out right now as to why I'm not at home hehe.

"I knew you'd be here." My thoughts are interrupted by Mario's friendly voice appearing behind me. I look behind me to my left, I watch as he begins to sit beside me and we both watch the river.

"You know I love the water, how was Peaches."

"Oh it was good, we made cookies last night, Daisy was there and could not stop asking about you." He says chucking a bit.

"Poor girl, it's been almost a year since Peach told on her. Seeing me keep my distance I'd hope she'd take a hint."

"Well, maybe she just can't resist your pretty blue eyes." He chuckles again before grabbing a stick and twirling it in the water. "It's weird, bowser hasn't made an attempt at kidnapping the princess in a while. I enjoy the peace but I can't help but wonder what is going on in the Koopa kingdom."

"Well, maybe we can finally be at peace and not have to worry about anything." I've never met or seen bowser before, but I can't help but let my mind wonder on certain things. Like why does he aim to capture the princess. It can't be just because of some 'ooo pretty must have' mentality right ? He is a king and I don't think people credit him enough for it. I would like to simply ask him that one question. I bet it's something deeper. Possibly combining the Koopa kingdom and the Mushroom kingdom.

"Who knows, but Peach is also worried. She summoned both me and you. I told her you've never done any work for the kingdom nor did you have any interest but she insisted I atleast ask you to hear her out." I can feel his gaze blazing into the side of my face as he waits an answer. I lift my head up just in time for a nice gust of wind to blow through, I take a deep breathe before looking back over to him.

"Okay, I'll hear her out but only because she's been a good friend to me since we were little. While you were out being an adventurer peach and I stayed inside, she's the one who taught me how to braid." I smile softly remembering those memories.

"I know you haven't been back to the kingdom since the whole Daisy incident but I'll be there the entire time. Just try and be friendly with her." He says before standing up and reaching down for my hand. I grab it pulling myself up with his aid.

"I'll try."
