Chapter 3: Path to the Koopas

This will be the first time I've ever walked to the Koopa kingdom. It's just like walking home except instead of turning right, I keep going straight. I can't help but feel nervous, like the air around me is stiffening trying to get me to stop moving forward. I don't think it's fear, I'm not afraid of bowser. Am I..? No I just, I think I'm worried about Mario. I've never even seen him react like that before. He was so full of rage the moment Peach informed me on this mission.

Mario, I can do this I promise. I don't have to hurt anyone or anything. All I'm doing is simply going to bowsers castle to talk. Besides I wanna ask him a few questions anyways. I am certainly fascinated by this kings behavior. I look back over to the path leading to my house before quickly stepping onto the path leading to the Koopa Kingdom. I begin walking and almost immediately notice the temperature get a little warmer. It's not too hot but it definitely is a bit warmer then I'm used too. I begin to daydream a bit as I walk down the path. What will he be like..? I heard he has a kid, so he can't be to bad right ? When you think of big bad monsters you don't think of a family man. Speaking of, who would be the mom ?

Or is it kinda just like an egg scenario. Bowser just popped an egg out....? Or did he find an egg and adopt ? Or maybe there is some lady in his kingdom who couldn't take care of the egg she laid and bowser kind heartily took the egg and cared for it the best he could.

Wow, I never thought I would be obsessed with the king of the Koopas but I am intrigued. So much about him that sparks my curiosity.

"Why hello there." Huh, who is... I turn around to see a random Koopa behind me. He clears his throat before walking towards me a bit more. "Don't really see a lot of people from the Mushroom kingdom around here." He grabs my hand softly before bringing it to his lips and kissing it.

"Uhhh" I feel my face heat up, my blush growing bright. That's right, I forgot being gay in the Koopa kingdom isn't that big of a deal as it is in the Mushroom kingdom. I've never been approached like this before, well I guess Daisy but she's never been this direct before. I clear my throat nervously. "Oh hi, I- I'm Luigi. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you as well, my name is Breath." I get a hold of my head and take my hand back from him. This causes him to chuckle softly. "What brings you all this way ?" I begin walking again before answering him.

"Well, I really wanna meet the Koopa king. I've heard a lot about him but I wanna put a face to the name."

"Ahh, well Bowser is quite the character. You Mushy people also tend to fear him but us Koop's, we love him. Are you afraid of him Luigi ?"

I don't think I'm afraid of him.... I've never met him but Mario seems to have some reason to fear for me. "No, I'm not afraid at all. Actually I'm very excited !"

"Well you look very beautiful when you're excited" he says walking besides me.

"Oh... thank you but I got to warn you-"

"Oh, trust me I know you're gay. It's written all over your cute butt heh."

"Damn, that obvious huh ?" I can feel the scarlet burn blazing on my face again.

"Well, probably not to most but I can tell. I used to keep it a secret too, not for long though."

"Oh ?"

"Yeah, I was scared a little about my parents but then I overheard them telling stories to their friends about their old." He brings his arms up to make air quotes "adventures." Hmm seems like it is some sort of normal to be gay here.

"Well, I'm glad you have that support." I say smiling as I continue to walk forward.

"Well, looks like we're coming up on your destination here Luigi, I'll let you go here. A couple of the guards here don't really like me haha." He smiles at me once more before giving me a slight nod.

"Nice to meet you Breath !" I say watching him walk off.

Huh, Koopas seem to be a lot more friendly than most of the toads. Or maybe I'm just not as approachable in the Mushroom kingdom as I am here. Well here we are, a bridge with two guards standing by a gate are the only thing standing between me and a conversation with Bowser. I clear my throat approaching the gate.

"Hello!" Is that what I should say ? I don't know... every time I went to Peaches castle I've always been welcome.

"Hello there traveler, what is your business here at the Koopa Kingdom ?" My eyes widen a bit as I'm shocked at how nice they are.

"I request an audience with the King. I've never met him before and I would like to ask him some questions and have a conversation with him." I say feeling a knot appear in my stomach, oh goodness I hope that's good enough.

"Come on through" the guard on the right says while the guard on the left opens the door. I nod and smile at both of the guards before walking forward.

Well, here I come bowser.
