Chapter 6: Bowsers Gift

Peach.... That's the one thing I cannot seem to wrap my head around. I've know here for 18 years since we were all young, it just doesn't make sense that the kind loving princess I know would simply stand to the side and watch as the Koopa Kingdom gets terrorized when all they want is peace. I sink deeper into my bath water and close my eyes. I've made two new friends today, Breath and Bowser. I don't really feel like telling Mario I've befriended Bowser but if he's really serious about sending mail to me then Mario is bound to mind out sooner or later.

"Hey Luigi, I'm gonna head to bed but I'll leave the light on out here for you." I hear Mario muffle out from the other side of the bathroom door.

"Goodnight !"

"Night" I listen to my brothers tired footsteps before his door shuts and I hear his bed squeak. He must be super tired after all that rage today, and he even had tears. I think this is the first time in awhile Mario has had to worry about me so much. I'm usually just by myself in the woods or home watching the tv. After today though, I wanna go explore the Koopa kingdom a bit more. I've gotten so bored of this Mushroom kingdom, same scenery from when I was a kid and same boring people. Koopa kingdom has all new scenery and the people are mostly all like me. I've decided it, I'm gonna spend more time in the Koopa kingdom.

I stand up out of the warm water and immediately am hit by the cold air in the washroom. I grab the towel and wrap it around me instantly getting a bit more warmed up. I step out of the tub drying my hair off at the same time. I turn around and unplug the tub letting the water drain out. I dry off my body then then to the soft and warm pajamas sitting on the counter. I hurriedly put them on to get some cover from the coldness surrounding me. A sudden wave of tiredness washes over me and I yawn to show it. I did have a pretty long day, the bath definitely helped relax me. Mario definitely knew what he was talking about.... Maybe that's why every time he gets back from one of his adventures he takes a bath. I open the door revealing and empty living room with the lights still on just like Mario said. I flip the switch in the bathroom before making my way out to the living room. I look over to Mario's room seeing his door shut. I'm too tired to watch anything right now. I walk over to the light switch on the wall before turning and walking towards my room. Our house was only one floor so it was easy enough to find my way in the dark. I close my door mid yawn before jumping in bed and climbing into cover. Another thing about the Mushroom Kingdom is how cold it gets at night.

As soon as I land it bed it's like the exhaustion hit ten fold.

Chirp chirp, I'm awakened by the sounds of birds outside my window. "Luigi, something came in the mail for you." The front door closes and I hear Mario's footsteps approach my door. He knocks softly before opening the door and peeking inside to see if I'm asleep or not. "Good morning sleepy head." He says with a smile before coming and sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Good morning, I passed right out last night after my bath. What about you how did you sleep ?" I ask taking the letter he handed me.

"I slept eh, I was so upset yesterday I took a nap to calm down so that dipped into how much sleep I got last night. Plus I was thinking about what bowser said to you. So you went there and what happened again ?" He looks down at me waiting for me to answer.

"Well, I was pointed to a garden by Kamek to wait for bowser to come and talk. That's what I was telling you about yesterday. I had just stumbled upon the pond when Bowser finally came out and approached me. He was very friendly I promise no harm came over me. I asked why did he kidnap the princess. He said it was for a marriage proposal for the lands to be at peace. Peach refused and that's all he told me on that end." I held a couple of details, it's not that I don't trust Mario with this information I just don't want him thinking about all of this and loosing his mind especially if he's gonna be with Peach.

"Of course she said no, she loves me" he says with a smirk before asking his next question. "What did he say about no recent attacks?"

"He told me he's done trying with Peach, that's why there haven't been any attacks because he no longer has any interest."

"Hmm, he did seem ever more solemn the last time I went to save the princess from him. Maybe that was him finally accepting defeat." He says looking back over at the door. "Well, I'll go tell peach the news. Honestly I don't want you near her after she made you go on that trip it could have been dangerous. Even though you managed to charm both King Bowser and another Koopa who wanted to walk you home so I think you'll be fine on your own." He says smiling at me before patting my head gently.

"Hehe yeah, I like meeting new people and talking I think I'll do it more but don't worry I'll be safe." I say smiling back at him.

"You better" he says before standing up. "Okay, I'm off to the castle, be safe !" He yells before heading out the door. Hmm I guess what I told him about bowser has him in a good mood. I guess with Bowser no longer attacking him and peach can focus on their relationship and not defense. I wonder if I'll ever find anything like they have...? Certainly not with Daisy haha.

I get out of bed with a stretch and a yawn. I turn around looking at the blankets and sheets all mangled. I guess I better make this bed, orrr not I don't really care. I stumble into the bathroom and grab my toothbrush. I hate that disgusting taste I get in my mouth whenever I wake up. I turn the water on warm before covering my brush in toothpaste. I wet the brush a bit before putting it in my mouth and scrubbing. After a couple of minutes I spit the paste out before rinsing with water. I look up fixing my hair a bit. Okay, now for this letter. I pick the envelope up studying it. Good thing Mario didn't notice the address it comes from the Koopa Kingdom.

I sit down on our couch holding the envelope before deciding to open it. I pull out a letter causing a smaller piece of paper to fall onto the ground in front of me.

Luigi,
It was a pleasure having you in my garden last night. Having you experience the peaceful environment I want to share truly meant so much to me. I don't know much about you, but you are so different from your brother. What I said last night I truly meant. I want to be around you more. That is why I included a castle pass. Next time you arrive to my castle you will show that pass to the guards. You will be treated like royalty. They will call you lord Luigi and tend to your every need. I look forward to seeing you again.

Holy shit.... I never would have guess.... I mean he, he made me royalty in the Koopa Kingdom ! He wants to spend more time with me....? Friends, we're just friends. He doesn't even know I'm gay..... oh god unless he can tell just like Breath. I look down at the paper that dropped picking it up. It's a purple paper lined with a golden trim. The letters were written in gold as well. All it said was

Luigi
Castle pass

Okay... well I wouldn't mind spending more time in the castle and certainly wouldn't mind getting treated like royalty. I do love that garden. I should probably change out of my pajamas though. I leap up from the couch in excitement heading to my room immediately. Opening my closet I start searching from something to wear. I grab a pair of khakis that fit me well and a green sweater. Although it is hotter over there. I still get pretty cold. I finish changing then go look in the mirror.

Alright, I guess I look fit to be called lord Luigi
