Chapter 44 The Opening Show

Lillie, Nemona, and I decide to camp out at night in the snowy areas, it is true that there are a lot of Ice Type Pokemon around us, and somehow there are also Ghost Types, but we decide to keep each other warm and we all share a tent together.

The next day, we finally arrive at the city of Montenevera, this city is slightly gloomy, but there are still a lot of people living there. And on top of the city, there is the Gym, and in front of the gym, there is a giant stage.

"So this is Montenevera... this place is nice." Lillie says.

"So you decide to watch our battle this time?" I ask.

Although I really don't like some Pokedex entries, like Gengar hiding in the shadows to make people have bad luck, or how Drifblim takes the children away once it grabs their hands, or Chandelure using life energies to light their candles, or looking under Mimikyu can kill a person or Pokemon."

"Oh yeah, and that's the Ghost Type Z Move, Never-Ending Nightmare..." I say. "Imagine ghostly hands appearing from the ground and trying to attack you."

"Okay... Ghost Type Z move is interesting." Reisa decides to end the conversation. "Although I didn't come here alone, I have someone accompanying me here."

"Who?" I ask, and when we get inside the gym, we are surprised to see Professor Jacq inside.

"Professor Jacq?" We exclaim with surprise.

"Hello, hello, Ash, Lillie, and Nemona!" Jacq says. "How goes your Treasure Hunt? Figured out what you're hunting for yet?"

"Of course we do." Lillie says to him.

"That's great! Look at you guys, knowing exactly what you're after!" Jacq says. "Many students choose to make the Gym circuit a part of their Treasure Hunt. It's no easy feat, but even making the attempt is a worthwhile experience. That's why I came here with Reisa - to make sure you know your homeroom teacher's got your back!"

Then he gives us the Lucky Egg, and he says, "This should be handy for your Treasure Hunt. I hope you'll keep working on that Pokedex of yours too - since I did make the app and all!"

"Of course we do." I say. "We did capture a lot of new Pokemon after all."

"Glad to hear that. That's all from me. Just do your best and keep out of danger, OK?" Then Professor Jacq leaves the gym, and I decide to go to the counter.

"Welcome to Montenevera Gym! Let me register you as a challenger. Your name is Ash Ketchum, yes?"

"Of course." I let the Rotom Phone register my ID and the applications, and then the staff says, "Great! Now, in order to face Gym Leader Ryme, you'll first need to pass the Gym Test. Here at the Montenevera Gym, that means warming up the audience for the main event! That's right - you're the opening act!"

"Opening act?" I ask with confusion. I know that the gym leader is a rapper, but are we seriously going to go with the rap?

"Your job is to get up on the stage, show us some dead-fierce Pokemon battles, and get the crowd excited before the Gym Leader's concert begins! You can start the Gym Test by speaking with MC Sledge in front of the stage outside. Now get out there and have fun!"
