Gabriel woke up feeling the sun light in his face, as he turned to his precious beauty, who was still sleeping.
Gabriel layed a wet sloppy kisses on Nathalie’s neck, causing her to wake up.
Nathalie looked at her husband with weary eyes, before she started coughing, “Gabe! I don’t feel too good!”, she spoke with a hoarse voice. Gabriel pressed his hand against Nathalie’s forehead, and she felt like she was on fire, “your right! You’ve probably caught a nasty bug!”, he predicted.
Gabriel made sure his queen was comfortable, before giving her a kiss on the forehead, “I’ll be back as soon as I drop the kids off to school”, he left the room, leaving her to get some rest.
Gabriel was preparing breakfast in the kitchen. Once Adrien and Sofia had came down to eat, they munched on their pancakes, “where’s mum?” Sofia questioned, scared that something might have happened to her, “your mum caught a nasty bug!”, Gabriel answered.
"Wow! Mum found a bug in her room!”, Sofia cheered happily, making Adrien and her father laugh, “dad didn’t mean an actual bug! Sofia, he meant mum is ill”, her brother explained.
Once Gabriel had returned back from dropping the kids off at school, he made Nathalie a warm chamomile tea, to help with her bug.
Gabriel went to their bedroom and he saw Nathalie lying down, watching TV, “hey! How you feeling?” he questioned, “I’ve been, cough, cough, better!”, she rasped.
“I tried to get some rest, but I just couldn’t fall asleep!”, Nathalie groaned, “don’t worry! I can help you get comfy, just try to drink your tea first", Gabriel gave her the beverage.
Nathalie took a sip from her tea. While the warm liquid was in her mouth, she was finding it difficult to swallow.
Nathalie spat the tea all over her pyjamas and she leaned back down in bed, “I’m sorry! Gabe, I can’t swallow properly”, she apologised, “no need to be sorry, I’ll help you drink your tea and then I’ll clean you up, because the last thing I want, is for you to become dehydrated”.
Gabriel angled the tea cup at Nathalie’s mouth and she took small sips, until the cup was empty.
“Know let’s get you changed into something, to help bring your temperature down, like a t-shirt and shorts", Gabriel advised, “actually, I would very much like it, if the both of us were nude! That is if you don’t mind!”, Nathalie asked sheepishly, “of course! I don’t mind, my love, I’ll do anything for you!”.
Gabriel helped Nathalie out of her stained clothing, before he undressed himself.
Gabriel sat next to Nathalie on the bed, pulling her taut towards him. Nathalie rested her body against his front, placing her head on his chest.
“You are boiling! It’s no wonder you wanted to be naked!”, Gabriel blurted.
They layed a thin blanket over their naked bodies and they drifted off to sleep in each others arms.
They didn’t wake up, until 2:30pm to the sound of Gabriel’s alarm, “I better start getting ready to pick Sofia and Adrien up, how are you feeling? And do you need anything before I go?” Gabriel questioned, tilting his head.
“Honestly, I feel, cough, cough, terrible, but I appreciate you being here with me, and yes, I need you to help me to the bathroom and I could do with something to eat", Nathalie requested, her voice barely a whisper.
Gabriel helped his wife out of bed. He held Nathalie’s left hand in his and he placed his right hand around her waist, helping her walk to the bathroom.
Gabriel sat Nathalie on the toilet before he left, leaving her to do her business in private.
Gabriel then got dressed into a t-shirt and jeans. He headed to the kitchen, making his sick lover a cheese baguette with a bit of butter.
Gabriel returned back to their room, giving Nathalie her baguette, “don’t worry! There’s nothing inside that will give you a bad tummy, just take small bites and you should be ok!”, he reassured her.
“I’m sorry your not feeling well, my love, but I’ll be as quick as I can!", he gave her a kiss on the head, before he left.
While Gabriel was driving towards the school, he thought about what to get Nathalie as a get well soon gift.
Once Sofia and Adrien had gotten inside the car, they visited three different shops, finding gifts for Nathalie.
They returned home, and Gabriel went straight to their room. He entered, seeing his lover watching a comedy movie and he joined her.
Once the movie had ended, Gabriel smirked, saying, “I’ve got you a surprise!”, he said, pulling three gifts from behind his back.
Nathalie opened them one by one, discovering three books, a bath kit and a box of chocolates, “thank you! You didn’t have to get me anything”, she spoke humbly, “I had to! Your battling a bug and I thought you could do with a little get well soon gift”.
Once Gabriel had washed the dishes after Sofia and Adrien’s dinner, he put some food into a little cardboard container for him and Nathalie to share.
Gabriel entered their room, sitting next to his queen, “do you feel like eating?”, he gave her a concerned look, “just a little bit", she rasped.
Gabriel fed Nathalie a few chips, before she felt like stopping. Gabriel finished the rest of the chips, chucking the empty container in the bin.
Gabriel helped Nathalie get dressed into her pyjama top and shorts, giving her plenty of air, before he got dressed himself and they fell asleep.
Next day
It was 4:00am in the night, and Nathalie was awake, tossing and turning, trying to go back to sleep.
Gabriel could feel a lot of movement on the bed. He woke up, seeing Nathalie rolling around. He placed a hand on her shoulder, “careful babe! You might hurt yourself!”, he worried.
Nathalie stopped rolling and she looked at Gabriel with wide eyes, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to wake you up..... my throat is hurting really badly and I can’t go back to sleep”, she complained.
Gabriel wrapped his arm around Nathalie, “let me take a look!”, he shined the torch in her mouth, seeing white pus at the back of her throat, “I think you need a trip to the hospital!”, her lover spoke truthfully.
They put their shoes on and Gabriel left Adrien a text, before he drove Nathalie to the hospital. They were both still in their pyjamas.
Once they were in the doctor’s office, Nathalie told him all her symptoms and the doctor checked inside her throat.
“You’ve got tonsillitis!”, the doctor diagnosed, “were going to have to remove it via surgery!”, he told her.
Nathalie was lying down on the hospital bed, with Gabriel knelt besides her, holding her hand and massaging her hair, “you’ll be alright! I know you will! Your the most bravest and strongest person I know, so just relax and wait for the surgeons!”, he said softly, planting a kiss on her forehead.
The surgeons arrived and they drew a curtain around Nathalie, leaving a gap, so Gabriel could at least see her face.
Adrien and Sofia woke up, but they were confused, when they noticed that their parents weren’t in the kitchen.
Adrien pulled out his phone and he noticed that he had a text message from his dad, “Adrien! Your mum was struggling to fall sleep last night, so I took her to the hospital! Look after Sofia while were gone, love you, dad xx”.
Adrien told Sofia about the message, he made her breakfast and they played video games for awhile.
Once the surgery was done, Nathalie woke up feeling a little groggy and nauseous.
After an hour, Nathalie was allowed to go home, as long as she took it easy. Gabriel helped her into the car and he drove back to the Manor, even though the ride was quiet, he knew it was because his partner wasn’t feeling too good.
They reached the mansion and as soon as they opened the door, Sofia and Adrien ran up to their mother, “mum! I missed you!”, they both said, while hugging her.
Nathalie cleared her throat, before she said, “I missed you too!”.
“know let’s give mummy some space, because she needs to rest her voice for the next two weeks”, Gabriel announced. He helped Nathalie to her room and he made sure she was comfortable, before he left her to rest.
