"Hazel," Criston said with a knock on the door.

"Go away." Hazel whispered burying her head in the pillows.

"Honey..." Criston crouched next to her bed. "You went to Boston."

"I went to Boston and found my mother, my real mother!" Hazel agreed rolling over to face him. "She's evil, don't you see it? I found my mother and now she is going to scare Davina away and she is never going to love me because she is going to go home and forget I ever existed." Hazel declared tears in her eyes.

"Oh honey..." Criston didnt know what to say to that. How could he convince Hazel Hightower that her mother wasnt an evil queen, that he wasnt a knight in shining armor, that Storybrooke wasnt a fairy tale.

"You don't understand." Hazel whispered. "it's because of the curse."

"It's late, you are tired... big day." Criston offered.

"Yeah..." Hazel agreed softly. "But I'm still right."

"You know you were really brave." Criston remarked. "You took that bus, all the way to get her, not knowing if she would be there or not... that was stupid and brave."

"My father is a knight." Hazel remarked.

"Oh? She told you that?"

"No... everyone seems to be a knight in westeros." Hazel offered. "Harwin was a knight but he's not my father... but he is her true love." Hazel offered. "I think my father is of this world... but I don't know..." Criston let out a deep sigh. He couldnt imagine the identity struggle going through little Hazel's mind. She just wanted to know where she came from, who her parents were and now her mother was here and Mayor Hightower was going to push Davina away.

"Don't let her leave." Hazel begged.

"How about you and me get coco tomorrow at grannies?" Criston offered. "You tell me more about... westeros." Hazel nodded as he got up. "Alright, before school, I don't want you to be late again."

"Me being late was your fault." Hazel informed him and Criston chuckled as he closed her door.

"Night Hazel." Criston made his way down the stairs and peered in on Alicent and Davina.

"Madam Mayor, you can relax. Other than being a tired little girl, Hazel's fine." Criston remarked.

"Thank you, Sheriff." Alicent agreed. Criston nodded to them before heading out.

"I'm sorry she dragged you out of your life. I really don't know what's gotten into her." Alicent remarked.

"Kid's having a rough time. It happens." Davina assured.

"You have to understand. Ever since I became mayor, balancing things has been tricky. You have a job, I assume?" Alicent offered.

"Uh, I keep busy, yeah." Davina agreed.  Alicent looked her over skeptically.

"Imagine having another one on top of it. That's being a single mom. So I push for order. Am I strict? I suppose." Alicent agreed. "But I do it for her own good. I want Hazel to excel in life. I don't think that makes me evil, do you?" Alicent countered.

"I'm sure she's just saying that because of the fairy tale thing." Davina remarked.

"What fairy tale thing?" Alicent retorted staring back at her.

"Oh, you know. Her book." Davina said with a chuckle. Alicent stared back at her. "How she thinks everyone's a cartoon character from it. Like her shrink is King Viserys Targaryen... whoever that is." Alicent stared back at her perplexed though.

"I'm sorry. I really have no idea what you're talking about."

"You know what? It's none of my business." Davina countered clearing her throat. "She's your kid. And I really should be heading back."

"Of course." Alicent agreed moving to the door instantly. Davina looked at her cup of cider before putting it down and heading out of the study. She headed to her car, a little yellow VW bug and stared back at the house. She saw Hazel in the window, the saddest of looks on her face as she pulled the curtains closed.

Davina was headed home when she looked into the passenger seat and saw a song of ice and fire.

"Sneaky bastard." Davina chuckled but glanced back at the road and saw a wolf in front of her car, a direwolf, she swerved to avoid it and her car spiraled and hit the Storybrooke entrance sign.
