"Ohh ditching the queens calls." Davina tsked.
"You want me answering alicents calls while you are in my bed?" Criston countered.
"No." She confirmed her smile growing. "Is the city in danger?"
"No."
"Then why is she bothering you... Sheriff?" Davina questioned.
"Lets not talk about her." Criston suggested rolling her back into her back.
"Tag!"
"Double tag!" Luke countered tagging her right back before she could run. Hazel moved to jace
"Tag! no tag backs!" She shouted running up the steps of the castle playground.
"Gah!" Jace grumbled running after his brother before getting wood chips stuck in his shoe. "Time out!"
"So what do you want for your birthday?" Luke asked climbing up the ladder to get to Hazel.
"Everyone together!" Hazel declared
"I'm getting you sugar cereal." Jace decided
"It's supposed to be a secret." Hazel countered
"Act surprised." Jace encouraged
"I have decided yet." Luke added. " It has to be perfect your first birthday as my girlfriend."
"A lot of pressure." Hazel confirmed. "True loves kiss fixed anything. Kiss me maybe the answer will come to you."
"In your book was anything solved by true loves kiss?"
"I think if it did we wouldnt be stuck here." Hazel countererd.
"I just think that if you're supposed to hate someone based on their last name alone, you should at least know every single reason. You do realize that this all borders eerily close to Romeo and Juliet, right? Alicent is team Lena and pulling Daemon away from you, I'm team Nyra obviously."
"So, I'm what, Juliet in this scenario? And Daemon is Romeo?" Nyra asked. "I suppose you're my chambermaid? Thanks for letting me die, by the way," Nyra continued to tease.
"Okay maybe a bad comparison." Davina admitted.
"I was thinking for your birthday this year-" alicent began but Hazel cut her off
"can we invite Davina to?"
"Oh honey I was kinda hoping to just be...."
"yes..." Hazel looked up at her mother.
"Just... us..."
"Well I was hoping that she could come because it's my birthday." Hazel reminded her with the sweetest of smiles.
"How about to the party on Saturday but for dinner-" Hazel once again cut her off
"well I already invited Luke and Jace with dinner and obviously their dad's coming-"
"Hazel honey I thought it could be just us." Alicent requested. Hazel stared back at her.
"OK I can cancel with them but when I have to deal with a very pouty Luke tomorrow it's your fault," Hazel informed her.
"Most things are." Alicent murmured.
Alicent made a great feast invited the Velas and criston on Hazels request. Pretended to invite victor but somehow that invitation got lost. Davina showed up with carrot cake and smile.
"Happy birthday kid."
"Davina!" Hazel declared hugging her tight. "You came."
"Missed too many name days." Davina admitted. Hazel stared back at her. "Im sorry-"
"What did you say?"
"I missed to many birthday-"
"Name day. You called it a name day."
"Did I?" Davina countered. Hazels smile grew
"You are remembering. This is the best name day ever!"
Alicent got Hazel a 3-D puzzle for her birthday she was so excited she wanted to test it out right away.
"Oh ow!" Hazel brought her finger to her lips. "Stupid box. LUke!" she declared. "True loves kiss fixes everything." He kissed her finger. "All better."
Jace got hazel three boxes of sugary ceral true to his word while Luke got hazel a locket. Saying his heart would always belong to her.
"Hes literally the sweetest man alive!" Hazel deemed before realizing that davina had vanished. "Put it on me." She added lifting her hair up for luke to clasp the necklace. "I love it and you." She kissed his cheek before running off.
She knew that today might be hard. It was the day davina gave her up after all. Hazel saw her walls down and took her chance.
"Davina Tate... Targaryen." Hazel began. Davina turned to her "You went to harrenhall to save your friend the love of your life, ser Harwin Strong but when you walked through the fires... everything changed. You reverted to a baby and grew up fell in love with someone new and had me and gave me up!' Hazel declared. "It's my birthday. I just want to know-"
"Your fathers name was seamus." Davina whispered
"What?"
"He was the best of times the worst of crimes he made everything feel right. He was my best friend for a short time and then he was gone. I wish this knight in shining armor of yours existed because knights in shining armor aren't supposed to leave girls crying in the rain, cursing their name." Davina rasped.
"Did he know about me?"
"Ran off before I had the chance... I'm sorry I kept it from you I'm sorry I kept it from him, but it doesn't matter does it? Your mother would've kicked him out too." Davina countered
"I only wanted you." Hazel assured. "Thanks for telling me."
"No problem, kid" she answered heading off
"Where are you going? There is still birthday cake!"
"Need to clear my head. I will be right back, start without me." Davina requested letting out a deep breath.
