"Hey, can I ask you again?"

" Ask what?" Hazel questioned leaning into luke, their hands clasped tightly.

"Why do you think it's so important that your...your fairy tale theory is true?"

" I don't know." Hazel murmured

" Give it a shot."

"Cause this can't be all there is. I love Luke, I love home most of the time but... there is a great big world out there and no one wants to explore it but me."

" I understand." Victor whispered

"I thought if I found proof... But I didn't find anything." Hazel grumbled

" Well, that's not true. I was lost and you found me, right?" Victor offered

"You mean, you remember?" Hazel perked up

" No, Hazel. I... I don't remember, but I-I do remember the kind of person I want to be. I just got to listen harder."

"We are going to die!" Luke declared as little pebbles started to fall on them. But a light shined through

" Wh-what's that?" Hazel questioned

" I think that's the rescue." Victor said taking a deep breath.

"DOWN HERE!" Hazel and luke shouted.

"You guys okay?" Davina peered down

" Yeah, we're... We're okay."

"Hang on, kids. Okay, that's good. Stop." Davina called back up for criston to stop.

" Here you go. Up." Victor passed off Hazel to Davina.

"Come on. I got ya. Okay. Okay, I got her." Davina assured holding Hazel close. Luke held tight to her legs as they were hosted up.

" You got them? Are they safe?" Victor questioned as the shaft shifted.

"Hold tight." Davina requested seeing a spark of something she couldnt explain, hazel probably had an explanation but it was like they both saw something in that moment of fear like they did know each other in another life.

" You okay?" Alicent looked Hazel over as Lenny fussed with Luke.

"I'm fine, I'm fine, I had to be the man and protect hazel." Luke added hugging Lenny.

"Deputy, you can clear the crowd away." Alicent added holding hazel hostage in her arms.

" I, uh... I have something to say. I'm going to continue to treat Hazel, and I'm going to do it my own way." Victor decided.

" My relief at her safety hasn't changed a thing, Dr. Victor. You will do as I say, or you will-"

" Or will what? You'll ruin my life? You'll do your worst? Because I will always do my best." Victor corrected.

" Don't test me." Alicent hissed, hazel smirked up at them.

"Oh, I don't need to. Because you're going to leave me alone and let me do my work. In peace."

"Really? Why's that?"

"Because someday, Madam Mayor, you may find yourself in a custody battle. And you know how the court determines who is a fit parent? They consult an expert. Particularly one who has treated the child. So, I suggest that you think about that. And you allow me to do my work. And let me do it the way my conscious tells me to." Victor decided heading off. Alicent held hazel tighter smashing the breath from her lungs.

" Hey! Listen." Hazel declared. The field went quiet at her command. Queen in the making Davina thought fondly. The sound of crickets echoed all around them.

"Crickets." Victor realized.

"They're back. Things are changing." Hazel declared. "They really are."

"Hey Haze, i'm grounded for forever." Luke whispered.

"Was it worth almost dying with me?" Hazel questioned kissing him.

"Yeah." Luke agreed, blushing. "But our next date, when I'm like 100 because thats probably when my dad will let me out of his sight again, lets not die."

"What better way to live and die then in the arms of the man I love most." Hazel countered.
