*VROOM* *VROOM*
It was 7:30 AM and Calliope was on her motorcycle speeding towards the BINI High School.
There are only a handful of things that makes Calliope genuinely happy but one of them is definitely riding her motorcycle.
The adrenaline rush.
The sounds of the motor engine running along with the speed and wind going through her.
She always feels alive and in control of herself when she's on the road with her big bike.
Her mother gifted it to her with the help of her best friend Mackenzie who chose the make and model on her on her 18th birthday as Callie's been trying to save up for it for about 2 years until she gets her license but she was still a few thousands short before she became legal to drive so it was a surprise when she saw it at the front door the morning she woke up and was heading for school that day.
That's why the motorcycle added so much more value to her since it was a present from her mother and her best friend picked it out for her.
As she was cruising through the streets, she felt like a heavy cloud was over her head despite the clear weather and that a vehicle is following her for a while so she glanced over the side mirror but there was nothing behind her.
"Ayan ka nanaman Callie, dahil sa pagpupuyat mo nyan kung anong guni-guni pumapasok sa isip mo."
She told herself before she sped off towards the school.
*At the school parking lot*
Calliope settled her motorcycle near the far end of the parking lot covered by the trees as she watched students starting to enter the school grounds.
"Ayan. School nanaman. Isang taon nanaman ng paghihirap saamin."
She sighed to herself while she puffs a cigarette with her earbuds on, listening to My Chemical Romance.
"They're gonna clean up your looks
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you, son
So they can watch all the things you do.."
"Ahhhh so fitting", she thought to herself as she took another whiff of smoke into her lungs.
This is how she usually copes with stress; smoking, riding her motorcycle and listening to loud music. It keeps her thoughts in check and makes her relax more unfortunately.
She decided to focus on seeing students new and old slowly entering the school for enrollment. Some with their co-classmates, or by themselves while others are with their friends and some are with their family.
