Dreamer 3:

It's raining hard.

We are in front of some sort of church.

My mother puts the basket I am in down.

No, this can't be happening!

She says something in a different language and leaves.

No! Come back! Please!

It was bad enough that I was reborn somewhere I don't know.

Then my new family just abandoned me!

I am still a baby! I can't fend for myself!

I don't know the language here, so I can't ask for help!

I can't even walk, let alone pick up and eat food on my own!

And yet, if I don't figure things out soon, I will probably starve to death!

So despite my fears, I tried desperately to move, to get up from the basket I was left in.

???: "Proficiency has reached the required level.

Acquired Skill [Fear Resistance LV1]."

Huh!?

Someone just spoke to me in Japanese!

Who are you?!

Come back!

Don't leave me here!

Please!

...

I miss Japan.

I often joked about wanting to be a magical girl.

So one would think I would be excited about being isekai'd.

But the initial reaction was nothing but fear.

I don't know what happened to me and what will happen to me.

I want to go back, back to enjoying fiction as they are, fiction.

I didn't need to worry about dying while playing D&D with Kengo, Issei and Kunihiko.

I got to enjoy playing pretend with Hiiro, Sachi and Miss Oka.

And Shun, I miss our little chats about science and art.

It seemed like nothing special, and yet I ended up falling for him anyway.

Love is weird, not that it matters anymore.

I will probably never see any of them again.

Whoever just spoke to me was the only connection to Japan I have left!

Assuming it didn't abandon me as well.

No, please no.

Come back!

I cry loudly in the night, and soon enough, someone shows up.

A young girl, in some sort of nun outfit.

Please! Save me!

I reach my arms out in desperation.

???: "Proficiency has reached the required level.

Skill [Fear Resistance LV1] has become [Fear Resistance LV2]."

You came back! You came back!

The girl said something and I was taken into the church.

Saint 1:

Today is a slow day at the Church of Ullen.

With how heavy the rain is, it's no surprise barely anyone showed up for prayers, healing or confessions.

Not that I blame them, I wouldn't want to venture out there myself right now.

A wet uniform is a pain to deal with.

And so we are taking advantage of the low traffic to clean the church instead.

I am currently sweeping the entrance when I suddenly hear something.

A baby crying?

It's coming from outside.

Do I seriously have to go out?

Sigh...

Against my desire to avoid the downpour of rain, I went outside to find a baby crying in a basket near the entrance.

Not again.

I was told that I was abandoned at the church in much the same way.

But unlike this poor one here, I was soundly asleep and unaware.

I went to pick the baby up, as it reached out to me with their hands.

Does this one know they have been abandoned?

Probably not, probably just reaching out for comfort from their now missing mother.

"Don't worry, you will be safe with us."

I reassure them, not that I expect them to understand.

And with that, I took them into the church.
