Vampire 4:
My mother is doing something strange today.
Strange by my understanding of this world.
We have things like Skills and Stats in this world.
Logically, you would want to keep them.
But apparently not to the people of this world.
Seras: "And...done. [Skill Elimination] is in effect now."
From what I gathered, [Skill Elimination] is a Skill that slowly deletes all your Skills over time.
Once started, it cannot be cancelled.
And you would have to build up your Skills again.
This is part of the practice of the religion here, called the Goddess Faith.
Pretty dumb name, if you ask me.
The deleted Skills are offered up as power to the goddess Sariel.
Doing so will apparently lead to salvation or something.
They say the voice we hear to announce things like level ups is that of Sariel's.
This whole thing is just stupid to me.
What a bunch of weirdos, worshipping a game announcer of all things.
Not that I plan on making my opinion known to anyone here of course.
Butler 2:
Every few years, my Mistress undergoes [Skill Elimination] as part of the practice of the Goddess Faith.
To offer up our Skills to the goddess Sariel as power, for our eventual salvation.
A task not expected of everyone, unlike the Word of God and their demand that everyone hoards Skills for no other reason than to hear her voice.
Their so called repentance is just an excuse to amass power for themselves.
Anyway, people like guards, adventurers and soldiers are not expected to undergo [Skill Elimination] as they need Skills to perform their duties to society.
Only when they retire are they expected to undergo [Skill Elimination].
To do so otherwise is to betray the goddess.
Mistress: "And...done. [Skill Elimination] is in effect now."
And with that, my Mistress' Skills will disappear over the course of a few days.
After which she will retrain her Skills, so she may do it again a few years later.
I myself and my Master are not as devoted to the practice as her.
But we are excused as we are often too busy to delegate time to training.
I turned to look at the Young Miss, and saw what seemed to resemble a judgemental glance on her face.
Strange, what is it she is judging all of the sudden?
I am guessing she does not understand the significance of [Skill Elimination] yet.
Well, she is young, can't blame her for that when her education hasn't even begun.
Though considering how smart she seems to be with how she seems to understand the conversations around her.
Maybe she can start her education earlier than most.
