December 11th. "Ice cream... In winter?"

"I don't know what to spend my pocket money on." Edmund mumbled as he and Peter wandered down the street.

Peter smiled a little. "I'm sure you'll find something before we get home." He told him.

Edmund nodded, before stopping outside a shop, grinning. "Can I get an ice cream?" He asked excitedly.

Peter raised an eyebrow. "An ice cream?" He said. "In winter?"

"Oh come on!?" Edmund said, grabbing onto Peter's arm. "I really want one, it doesn't matter that it's winter."

"Says the one who hates the cold." Peter said with a raised eyebrow.

Edmund pouted. "But I love ice cream." He said slowly, turning his big, dark brown eyes on his older brother.

Peter couldn't help but chuckle a little. Edmund could always get his way with those eyes. "Alright, you can get an ice cream." He said with a small sigh. "But don't let it ruin your dinner or I'll get into trouble."

"I won't." Edmund said, grinning and running for the shop door.

"Which flavour did you want?" Peter asked as Edmund scanned the options.

Edmund bit his lip, there were six flavours to choose from, and it took him an unreasonable amount of time to pick one.

"How about chocolate?" Peter suggested. "You know you like it, and you've got just enough money."

Edmund glanced at him, before he nodded. "Yeah, I'll have chocolate." He said.

Within two minutes the two were on their way home, Edmund gripping an ice cream cone in his hands, chocolate ice cream on top, with sprinkles thanks to Peter and his leftover change and his good heart.

"Nice?" Peter asked, holding Edmunds hand as they crossed the road.

Edmund nodded. "Yep." He breathed, hopping up onto the pavement. "Thanks for the sprinkles."

Peter smiled gently down at him. "You're welcome." He said, pulling Edmund out the way of a particularly large puddle when he went to walk straight into it.

Edmund smiled and ate his ice cream as they walked, finishing it just before they got home. "I'm cold." He mumbled suddenly as they walked up to the front door.

Peter snorted. "I'm not surprised."
