December 21st. Down the chimney

☆☆☆

"Peter?"

Peter looked up from his homework as his five year old sister walked over, a small frown on her face. "Yeah?" He asked.

"How does Santa get into our house?" Lucy asked.

Peter chuckled a little. "How do you mean?" He said, placing his pen down.

"How does he get inside to put the presents under the tree?" Lucy said. "Don't we always lock the doors at night? So if we do, he can't get in?"

Peter smiled a little. "He comes down the chimney of course." He said, voice gentle.

Lucy frowned. "Down the chimney?" She muttered. "How?"

Peter laughed. "Magic." He whispered, leaning a little closer to his sister so she'd hear.

Lucy stared at him for ages, before he eyes sparkled and her face lit up. "Really?" She whispered back.

Peter grinned at her and nodded. "Really." He murmured. "He slips down the chimney with his big sack of gifts, and he leaves them under the tree. Then he goes back up the chimney using magic, and flies away on his sleigh pulled by reindeer."

Lucy looked so happy that Peter couldn't help but chuckle. "Will he come this year?" She asked excitedly.

"Well, that depends..." Peter said slowly with a small smirk. "If you've been a good girl for the year."

Lucy nodded. "I have." She said hopefully.

"Well then Santa will be paying you a visit." Peter told her.

"Lucy! Come tidy your room please!"

Lucy froze at her Mums voice coming from upstairs, before sighing. "Coming!" She called back, before glancing at Peter, giving him a look that clearly said "please get me out of this."

Peter only smiled at her. "Go on," He said, giving her a slight nudge. "If you don't clean your room, Santa won't come."

Lucy had never run up the stairs so fast.
