December 24th. Christmas Eve

"But I don't want to go to sleep." Lucy said desperately as Peter led her up the stairs.

Peter smirked. "If you don't go to sleep santa won't come." He told her.

Lucy sighed. "Can't I stay up for half an hour more?" She asked, reaching her bedroom door. "Edmund gets to."

Peter raised an eyebrow. "Edmunds older than you." He reminded her. "Besides, it's not my decision to make. Mum and Dad have sent you to bed Lu, now in you go."

Lucy huffed, "Fine." She muttered, opening her door and sitting down on her bed.

"If you hurry to get changed, I'll read you a story." Peter offered.

Lucy perked up a bit at this. "And you'll do all the voices?" She asked hopefully.

Peter rolled his eyes playfully. "Yes I'll do all the voices." He said.

Lucy leapt off the bed and hurried to get ready, and for the next half hour Peter read her a chapter from her favourite book, before tucking her under the covers and placing a kiss to the top of her head. "Get some sleep," He murmured. "I'll see you on Christmas morning."

Lucy smiled at this and snuggled under the covers. "See you tomorrow." She whispered, before she closed her eyes and rolled over.

Peter waited a few seconds before standing and leaving the room, quietly creeping down the stairs and back into the living room, where he continued his game of chess with Edmund before his little brother also had to sleep.
