I had been keeping tabs on Seth's mother ever since she had called. I knew he didn't want to talk about it and I wasn't going to pressure him to. Based on the information I'd gotten, Seth's parents should have been well-off based on inheritance from his father's lineage.

Until everything went to shit when his mother had taken off with another man soon after learning that her in-laws had no intention of sharing the money and her husband had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Seth and his sister were cared for by their grandparents while their father was living at the family estate being taken care of by a full-time nurse.

"You know that father will find out soon or later," Alejandro looked over to me.

"I know."

"He will kill you, he can't show weakness, even if it's his own blood."

I exhaled and took a long sip of my whisky. You weren't allowed to be gay in the mafia, the few close people that knew were locked in and I knew that they'd keep their mouths shut. I tried to keep Raul or Marco with Seth at all times since the Gonzalez incident. I needed to make sure they didn't suspect him of anything, luckily they thought he had been a younger cousin and wanted to use him as leverage.

"I know that too."

"Hermano," he said sternly, "You will be taking over from padre whether you like it or not, unless you can hold Seth down until then you need to keep him under tight locks."

He was right and that was part of the reason I had never had serious relationships with men, I couldn't show them off as I'd like to without security monitoring us 24/7 or having them followed by security under the pretense that my parents were high-ranking governing officials in another country.

I nodded in agreement, "Any updates on the mother?"

"She's been trying to get into contact with every and anyone in the family considering that her and the man have been legally divorced for about 5 months now," he said handing me a file.

I skimmed through quickly, if she thought she could worm her way back into Seth's life so simply, she made a sad mistake.

"Keep a close eye on her, I don't want anymore surprises."

I checked my watch, I needed to meet with the developers and my father regarding the new plans for the hotels in Singapore and the Maldives.

I would love to take Seth there but it would appear that every time we travelled abroad, a dispute arose. I ignored the negative thoughts and we made our way to the garage.
