Dedicated to Dana.
Seth felt a pang of jealousy in his chest. He shouldn't have been jealous because he too, had girlfriends of the past. He took her in fully, she was gorgeous and he didn't expect less of someone who used to be by Xander's side.
He forced a smile and reached forward to shake her hand.
"Wow," she turned to Xander, "He's cordial too."
"I think it's best we leave," he placed a hand on the small of Seth's back pushing him towards the exit, "Night Bridgette."
"What's the rush?" she pouted, "Am I intervening with your plans?"
"Again," he glowered, "Goodnight Bridgette."
Seth let out a breath as they walked through the door of the hospital thankful that Xander had saved him mid-way from a conversation with his ex that was going to be unbearably awkward.
"I'm so sorry Seth," Alex said as they walked through the parking lot.
"It's fine."
"It's really not, I don't know why she would do that," he ran his hands through his hair, "We settled our differences long ago and we've been fine ever since."
"Maybe she was used to you being single even when you broke up," Seth gave him a sad smile, "I guess seeing you with someone else made her snap into reality."
"I love it when you speak logically to me," Xander grinned unlocking his car.
Seth got inside and buckled his seatbelt, "I have a burning question."
"Shoot," he said pulling out of the hospital parking lot.
"Why did you take the bus if you had a car?"
Xander laughed, "Thought you'd never ask."
"C'mon, spill," Seth nudged him.
"The first time was only because I had lent my car to my brother for the day and let's just say the second time wasn't called for but I was hoping to check on a certain someone who sustained an injury to the head."
Seth felt warmth spread through his chest and he fought the smile that was creeping its way upon his lips.
"How the hell did you end up falling anyway?" Xander slowed at a stoplight, "Come to think of it, the impact shouldn't have thrown you with such force for you to get that kind of injury."
"Don't speak doctor at me," Seth mumbled.
"I'm sorry baby," he chuckled.
Seth didn't want to tell him that hed scared him into sitting at the edge of his seat so much that a small amount of force could send him flying. It was embarrassing.
"I- I accidentally sat too close to the edge of the seat."
"Why would you do that?" Xander asked furrowing his eyebrows.
"You scared me," he whispered.
"Eres gracioso," Xander laughed out loud.
"If you're just going to make fun of me in another language then I'll make sure not to tell you anything ever again."
"Seth, come on, how could I possibly have scared you?"
"You were glaring at me before I even sat down!" he defended.
