(Now, after the trilogy, I begun to like how I write it, and then I felt unsatisfied with the original one. So I decided to redo it, with better writing, and to make it make more sense. Now, I don't own any of the characters or any material, the rights go to Nintendo, Toho, SMG4, SML, and Ubisoft. Now then, hope you guys enjoy. Let's begin.)
It was the 500th year anniversary of the Mushroom Kingdom, and during the midnight of it, Mario and Luigi were called by E. Gadd to meet him at his new bunker.
Luigi: Professor! You wanted to see us?
E. Gadd: Ah, Luigi! Welcome, Mario! I see you two have made it. Please come in.
The Mario Bros come in, closing the door, and find the lab bigger than usual.
Luigi: The lab seems bigger than usual. Why's that?
E. Gadd: Top secret. Anyhow, Luigi, I have a job for you.
Luigi: Don't tell me: you want me to go into some haunted mansion, because you wanted to catch some ghosts tonight, and you think it'll take two plumbers to do it. Is that what this is?
E. Gadd: Not this time. Luigi, I want you to go into the Mushroom mines. Rumors had spread out that someone or something is down there. Good change, right?
Luigi: Oh, Um, the mines? B-but it's dark.
E. Gadd: That's why I'm giving you this flashlight.
Luigi: (takes flashlight, before saying sarcastically) Thanks so much.
Luigi then leaves with the flashlight, and E. Gadd turns to Mario.
E. Gadd: As for you, Mario. You and my coworker are gonna go to this mansion that is rumored to be haunted.
Mario: Fine by me. Wait, coworker?
E. Gadd: Yes. Let me get him. (Walks to his room) He's here!
???: Okay, let me get my things!
The coworker comes out, revealing himself. Mario's eyes widen when he realizes the guy looks like him, only with blue clothing and white overalls.
E. Gadd: Mario, meet Smg4, my assistant.
Mario: Uh, why does he look like me?
E. Gadd: That's something I wanted to find out, but I couldn't find anything. See, one day, he crash landed on a giant USB of his color, not knowing who or what he is.
Smg4: The Professor checked my blood sample, and he said it had a unique structure, but similar to you. Now, since he said I looked like you, I've been wanting to meet you.
Mario: So, he got you into this mission as an excuse to partner with me?
