It was almost Halloween again, and I was going to pick up Streber for a "trip to the bookstore" so he could get his costume.
He was going to go as a vampire again, but he decided to go as a humanized Bill Cipher. He made the suit himself, but he still needs the top hat and eye patch.
Streber and I have gotten a lot closer over the past year. He's a great friend.
I've even kinda got to know his sister, Evelyn. I couldn't tell if she liked me or not. She was always quiet whenever I was around, and she always seemed to focus on my every move.
My brother has been a bit occupied recently. He had a new girlfriend. I didn't know her name, and whenever I tried to talk to her, she'd blow me off.
So I don't think she likes me much.
But Jack was able to be my ride today because his girlfriend was out of town with her family.
He's a senior this year, and has started taking interest in the law. He's starting to work on becoming sober, and he's going to less parties.
Once we arrived at Streber's house, he was sitting on the porch reading what I could only guess was some true crime novel. When he saw that me and Jack had arrived, his face lit up. He had his vampire fangs in, which somehow made his smile more admirable.
He put his book into his book bag, and ran over to the car.
"Hey, Kev!" He said happily once he opened the door. He got in next to me.
"Hey, Streber." I said with a warm smile. "Whatcha reading?"
(This next part is a purely fictional crime case. And relation to a real case is purely a morbid coincidence.)
"I'm reading Dressed For Carnage. It's about a woman named Jenna Duckstien who was always dressed in a silky red dress, and she'd lure people out of a casino, take them to her apartment, and kill them. She was arrested in 1992 and sentenced to lethal injection."
Holy bug in a pizza box. That is a lot. I'm not surprised though. His favorite thing in the entire universe is true crime. He likes learning about the victims more than the killers, though.
"Cool." I say in response. Streber is really cool. But also extremely morbid sometimes. It was really interesting to meet someone who was so sweet and loving but had terrifying and morbid interests.
"How are you Kev?" He said, fidgeting with his hands.
"I'm doing good. I have tickets to a local showing of Phantom of the Opera for the 30th, so I'm pretty excited for that." I love Phantom of the Opera. I've seen the movie, but I've always wanted to see a live performance of it. And Jack was able to get tickets for him, his girlfriend, and I.
But I don't know if it'll be the same with Jack's girlfriend in the picture. She's really judgmental, she hates me, and ever since she and Jack started dating, he's spent less time with me. I miss him.

FanficThis is pretty much how I imagine them meeting and eventually falling for each other. It's filled to the brim with headcanons lol. Also the cover art does not belong to me.
