Chapter 13: Defeating a Goddess

So as I said I would, I'm gonna kick it up to overdrive for the rest of this story. So I've revised my writing style and made some adjustments:

A blue Light spilt out into the doorway, temporarily blinding Anguirus as he walked outside to the temple yard.

He had laid down the Lullaby for the Egg as he was requested to do, and the effects took place immediately, the Egg was no longer rocking back and forth and the sudden temperature increase was mitigated.
Anguirus also managed to place the so-called 'scanner' onto it, per Kiryu's request.

However, as Anguirus got closer to the edge, he noticed that Kiryu was on top of something, what was he doing over there?

Upon closer inspection, he realised that the bodies of Methencrawlers littered the ground, their blood covered Kiryu's body as he pulled his Maser Blade out of a still-live Crawler's neck, before stomping on its head, granting it a mercy kill.

Kiryu's eyes flashed red, his teeth showing slightly.
"Kiryu? Are you okay?" Anguirus called out, catching his attention.

"Anguirus, you got the scanner right?" Kiryu called out, sighing in relief with his eyes returning to a vibrant yellow.

"Of course I did. I'm not an imbecile..."

Anguirus looked around as Kiryu began to walk towards him, still shocked by the fact that Kiryu had managed to kill so many Methencrawlers on his own. Kiryu noticed Anguirus looking and shrugged.

"I think Infant Island has a bit of a Methencrawler problem. I'm just surprised so many of them have mutated." Kiryu stated.

"Yes well... I'm more surprised by the fact that you were able to defeat so many."

"Huh, I guess that's fair. Alright, pass it now. After I contact Monarch again and tell them I have a plan, I'll take Mothra down into Hollow Earth where the Meteor can't affect her."

"Are you sure that'll work now? The meteor is only going to get closer and closer." Anguirus asked, making Kiryu sigh.

"I know... But she's the only chance I've got at learning something that'll help."

Anguirus nodded, throwing the scanner into the hole, allowing Kiryu to grab it and collect the info inside.

The egg was a male specimen, with bioacoustics almost identical to that of Mothra's. So much so that someone who's untrained could mistake one for the other.

Kiryu flipped the scanner and opened the electrical panel underneath, tampering with a few wires and flipping the top on its head, creating an opening for light to pour through.

Using technology similar to his World Map and HUD, Kiryu threw the scanner on the ground, immediately shooting up a Hologram on the egg. Anguirus nodded his head in approval as Kiryu picked up the scanner and screwed it into his wrist, ensuring he doesn't lose it.

"Technology can be quite amazing when used for non-nefarious needs. You seem well versed in its uses."

"Oh please, the most I could make before Zeta gave me Echo was some narcotic darts. Being the so-called 'creation' of one of the brilliant minds on the planet has its perks... and burdens." He muttered that last part.
