Chapter 14: Discovery

ECHO MEMORY BANK 2: "Worrying Circumstances."
BEGIN AUDIO PLAYBACK.

Three days.

Three days have passed since Titanus Mosura was defeated and the Meteor's effects have only doubled in intensity since then. As it edges closer to the Earth, I feel its influence. Kiryu has also been complaining about it, although on a lesser scale due to being busy with the Titans above ground.

I worry we won't be able to withstand its effects for much longer, but Kiryu remains vigilant. He is confident that we can stop all of the Titans before our inevitable shutdown. Tomorrow we set out to defeat both Titanus Scylla and Methuselah. He intends to lure both of them to the same spot to take them out at the same time, as he did with Titanus Rodan and Tsuchigumo. I would suggest against it under any other circumstance, but even I must admit we are running out of time, despite having a week and a half left to go.

Titanus Mosura seemed to share this sentiment when Kiryu spoke with her about the answers he was seeking. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to learn anything useful in regards to the Meteor besides the fact that it moves more like a comet, but we were able to calm her nerves by telling her that her offspring was safe and being guarded by Titanus Anguirus, which caused her heart rate to slow back to normal.

Kiryu is hoping that we'll find something soon to combat the power shortage that'll soon sap us of both our energy, but with our main plan of talking to the queen ending up a fluke, A miracle would have to happen.

I also feel like I need to document my thoughts about this topic. Kiryu has been exhibiting strange behaviours, specifically when around the Hollow Earth base. His demeanour changes completely, he seems...angry. Like he wants to leave almost every time he's there.

It could be possible that Kiryu resents the humans for trying to hunt him down and, on some level, forcing him to help them with this crisis. I do feel like he would have helped either way such is his nature, but I've observed how those humans around him act, they're always either fearful or angry at him. The only human that seems to acknowledge him is Dr Nathan Lind, who calls him by his preferred name and cares for his safety.

Kiryu needs me, I shall end this recording here. He suggested that I recall my thoughts in these memory folders at one point, and it is definitely a new experience. I will do more in the future. Perhaps I will talk to him about exploring more of Hollow Earth as well, he does seem to enjoy new things like that.

The next day...
ANTARCTICA, 04:23 AM

"Crap! Echo, how long do we have? They're on my ass!!" Kiryu yelled while fighting off Scylla's tendrils, only to get bulldozed by Methuselah into the ground.

"Jet forces arrival ETA is 120 seconds."

"Oh come on, stupid humans- OW!" Kiryu screamed as Methuselah rammed his body for the second time, before getting his horns grabbed by him. They began to wrestle each other violently, until Kiryu twisted his arm and threw the Titan to the side. "Just give me a second!"

He turned to Scylla, sending a barrage of missiles her way.
She sidestepped to the left and sprayed Liquid Nitrogen towards him, which Kiryu countered with his Maser cannon. Scylla roared, digging her legs into the ice as an intimidation display.
