"It's four in the morning, what are you all doing up?" Raph asked, sleepily making his way into the open area of the lair. The TV was on, of course. His younger brothers shushed him and turned their attention back to the commercial they were so invested in. Taken aback, he leaned over his brother Donnie. "Ay, what's going on here?"
Donnie shrugged. "They've been obsessing over this new restaurant in town, apparently we have to go because the commercial 'highlights everything we need in a restaurant'." He replied, making quotations with his hands. Really he wanted to go too, but he wasn't gonna say it out loud. Leo shushed them again. "Quiet in the back, we're watching a cinematic masterpiece right here!" Mikey nodded. "Yeah! Cinematic Masterpiece!"
Raph shushed them both. "Guys, Dad is asleep! You've gotta go to bed now, before you guys get yelled at!"
Leo stifled a laugh. "Aww, did Raph have a nightmare? You scared without us, big boy?" Donnie hummed in amusement.
"N-no, it's just that even if we were going to that new place, would you all rather be too tired to go?" They all widened their eyes and shook their heads. "I thought so. Off to bed, you little delinquents." Mikey and Leo sighed and dragged themselves back to their rooms. Donnie shrugged and made his way to his.
"Hey Leo...?" Mikey whispered. "Do you think they'll let mutants into that new place?" Leo nodded confidently. "Yeah, the commercial said that everyone was welcome! That includes us too!"
'I think...'
THE NEXT DAY
"Dad, I'm getting down on my knees..." Leo said as he did that. "And I'm asking for the 50th time...Can we PLEASEEE go to Hueso's new restaurant? He's out of town, and we need to make sure the humans haven't overrun it! Pleasee?"
Splinter sighed heavily and shook his head in frustration. "I already told you, Leonardo. The answer is no!" Mikey gasped and fell over in dramatized agony.
"But Daaaadddd-"
"Where is your dignity, gentlemen? Lemme show you how it's done." Donnie cleared his throat and pushed them out of the way, coming face to face with their father. "One thing about dad is that he likes haikus~" He whispered to Leo and Mikey.
"Let's go to Hueso's! Please, please, please, please, pl-"
"Enough! Why do you all even want to go? You are mutants, they will not accept you there!" Mikey shook his head. "No Dad, they said all were welcome! Mutants included! Right Leo?"
Leo gave him a thumbs up hesitantly. "Basically, technically, probably yeah!"
Splinter stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Hm. If what you say is true..." He turned to Raph and raised an eyebrow. "What do you think of this, Red?"
Raph sighed and looked away from his brothers' pleading eyes. "We'll scope out the place first. But if it is true, then...I don't see a problem with it-"
"YOU HEARD THE MAN, LET'S SKEDADDLE!" Leo shouted. Mikey jumped up and down with excitement. "Oh mi gosh, you're the best, Raph!"
The snapping turtle chuckled and shrugged. "Yeah yeah, thank me when we get there."
