"Y/N why do you look like you just crawled out of a cemetery?"

"Night. Rough. Talk in a second" you rush towards the bathroom before your little brother can further question your drowsiness

"'Mornin, why aren't you at school?" your phone was ringing so you answered—Kuroo's grinning on the other end. At least someone's having a nice morning.

"Hi" you prop your phone up against your mirror, wiping sleep out of your eyes

"You sound terrible" he says that so cheerfully

"I think I'm dying"

"What happened?"

"I went to sleep" you recount the events of last night "and I woke up like this—I think someone put a hex on me cause this shit ain't fun at all."

"You think it's the flu?"

"I think it's death"

"Don't be so dramatic"

"It's what I do"

"You've been using protection right?"

"Do you think I'm stupid?" You scoff "duh" if there was one thing you were sure of it was that you were not pregnant, you'd crush your favorite bracelet before you messed around and did that to yourself.

"Just making sure"

Babies were cute and all but taking care of one full time was a whole different thing. Hell no.

"Yeah I'm not, it's the opposite actually" you assure him

"You want me to bring you back?"

"Benadryl, cough drops—don't bring the nasty kind" you begin your list on your fingers "bring snacks, please"

"Why cough drop, you aren't sick are you?"

"Don't ask, just do"

"Alright, I'll come over after school" he tells you

"M'kay, kisses" you blow him a kiss before hanging up. You didn't even mean to miss school but getting out of bed was a whole lot harder when you were feeling like this.

You don't even bother washing your face, moving yourself straight into the shower. You wince as the onslaught of hot water practically brands your back. You didn't mean to put the water so hot but when you put it any colder it's just as uncomfortable.

You're more conscious of things you can't tolerate when you're on your period.

You endure the pain till you acclimate, and it was honestly a decent shower after that rough patch.

There's not much you can think about other than the text waiting in your phone. You got it last night and for some odd reason you couldn't stop staring at it.

You get out of the shower, rushing to get a pad on before anything goes wrong. There's no better time to do it to your entire skincare routine than right now. So you do just that, actually tending to your skin the way you were supposed to.
