You don't remember exactly when your parents gave up on you, but you had a feeling it was when they decided to have their second child.

Not that you thought that they'd aren't entitled to start over or anything. but they already had some kind of knowing that they had fucked up with raising you before they were actually done raising you.

You watch your little brother now as he groggily stabs a pencil through his eraser as you go over the explanation letter you helped him write out for his English teacher. Just cause your parents didn't bring up how badly he failed his test didn't mean that the grade wasn't still there.

"Wow that..looks just like mom's signature"

"Learned it all by myself" you were pretty confident in your work. The contents of the letter basically went along the lines of "my son was sick with a really bad stomach ache and was not able to preform to his fullest..blah blah blah can he retake the test?"

"Now put that in your folder and don't forget it" you instruct him over a bowl of cereal, shoveling the last little bit of it into your mouth. Sai nods and for once is compliant to something you say.

"Ya'll are up early" you don't jump but it startles you when your mom comes down the stairs.

"Yup we've got school" you nod towards you mom

"Great cause i need you guys to get the house clean" she ignored you, continuing off of her last sentance like you didn't just respond

"But the house is already clean" you look at her, unconsciously redoing the top button on your uniform. Nothing seemed to be out of place other than the a few sunken in pillows on the couch that could easily be fluffed up.

"Me and your dad's clothes still need to be washed, and the kitchen needs mopping too" she counted on her fingers like there was supposed to be more on her list. Almost as if she were suprised she looks up at the two of you waiting for an obedient yes.

"Can't we do that after school?" Sai groans

"Well if you guys can't act like normal kids I want people to know that you house can atleast look normal" that wasn't normal but there was no point in fussing cause either way you were going to have to get it done.

"Alright Ma"

"Don't get in trouble" she patted your shoulder stiffly "And I better not hear anything but good from the school, you hear?" You both nod, the click of the door leaving you both in a weird sort of silence.

"I love you too Ma" you wave on your tiptoes, a smile splitting your face knowing she wouldn't hear you anyway. you get through your short list of chores sloppily and rushed but it's done nonetheless, you only had a good thirty minutes to get it all done. You had the kitchen while Sai tackled laundry, both of you handling what you were best at.

When you're all done, you check the time on your phone.

Oh.

"SAI GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS YOU GOT A BUS TO CATCH" you throw your bag over your shoulder, making sure to dab at your highlighter with your pinky one last time, blending it just a little bit more.

"SHIT, WHAT TIME IS IT?!" You can hear him thudding upstairs, scrambling his way towards the stairway.

"ITS TIME TO LEAVE, THE FUCK??" You respond, stomping into your shoes
