Chapter 11

Leo was surprised and didn't know what to say to Xiara. He didn't think the girl would still be very sick. He thought it was a simple case of bleeding that would be easy to treat.

"I know the way you look. Don't feel bad for me, Leo. I will not die yet. I made a promise to myself that it won't happen until I see you happy. If I say something to someone, I keep it. I promise I won't leave you," Xiara stared at him with a powerful gaze.

Leo slowly took his eyes off the girl and put them back on the road. He also let Xiara stay quiet in her seat until they got to the amusement park.

"I'll do everything I can to make sure that our date is fun, interesting, and memorable. Enjoy yourself as much as you can, Xiara. I hope you enjoy yourself. You will have this day. Let's get started on this glorious trip. Shall we ?" Leo said with a smile as he got out of the car.

He walked around the car to the left side to open the door and watch Xiara get out. He gave her another smile and quickly tightened his grip on her hand. Leo's actions surprised Xiara a little. She didn't expect this to happen.

"You look great when you smile. You look cute, Leo. Why don't we stop and take a picture? It's memories that are worth treasuring. Come on," Xiara happily suggested.

Xiara ran straight to the entrance of the amusement park and talked to a man leaving. She gave him a smile and then asked him to use the camera she was holding to take a picture of them.

"Brother, I don't seem to be a bother, do I? Can you do me a favor? Please, just a picture of our memories. Let my partner be happy just once. Is it okay with you? I promise it won't take long," Xiara asked him with a smile on her face.

The man grabbed the camera Xiara was holding quickly. He began to set himself up so he could take pictures of the two. Xiara also put her arms around Leo a little and smiled sweetly at the man's camera.

"Leo, try to show a genuine smile. Even right now, show that you are happy to be living in this world. Forget the problems you are having. Please, just enjoy this moment," Xiara whispered in his ear.

Leo took a quick look at Xiara's face, and he could see how happy she was right now. He turned his attention back to the guy who was going to take their picture and slowly forced himself to smile.

"One, two, three. Say cheese!" the man said happily before taking a picture of the two.

Xiara ran up to the man quickly to make sure the picture was taken right. When she saw the man next to the picture, she was a little taken aback. She didn't think Leo would have such a beautiful smile, and when he did, her jaw dropped.

"Leo, look at this! I did not know that you were such a great smiler. You have the potential to be a model. Gosh, Leo! If that happens, I'll be your first fan, and I'll help you out," Xiara said in disbelief and quickly pulled Leo closer.

She surprised him by showing him a picture of them together. Leo couldn't help but feel happy because Xiara was happy just by seeing a picture of them together.

"That's just a picture, Xiara. I'm here and with you right now. If you promise me you will fight for the survival of your leukemia, I will do everything I can to show you my smile as frequently as possible," Leo insisted before handing the camera to Xiara.

Because of what he said, Xiara's smile went away just a little. She knew Leo was just trying to make her feel better, but she couldn't help being annoyed that he kept bringing up the fact that she was sick.

"Could you please stop, Leo? Please do not ruin the mood. I simply want to unwind and rest. Just help me now in forgetting about all of my challenges in life. Can you do that?" Xiara softly pleaded with the man.
