after returning to her dorm, midnight figured she should inform wednesday of the situation she had experienced. once she had fixed herself up a bit, the girl walked down to her twins door and began knocking. although there was no response, midnight let herself in and was met with her twin holding something down.

"you won't believe mother and fathers newest trick" wednesday states, looking at her sister with an angered expression. wednesday holds up thing, his fingers softly trembling. rather than say anything at first, the girl softly smiles.

"oh, thing? i figured you already knew. i heard him scattering around my dorm last night but thought i'd at least give him one night of peace" midnight states, her sister offering a flat-faced glare. wednesday drops thing on the desk, turning on her light as she pointed it at him.

"mother and father sent you to spy on us, didn't they?" wednesday questions, silence filling the room. "no wednesday, he just stumbled in" midnight jokes, a cold expression on her face. "i'm not above breaking a few fingers. and trust me, that goes for both of you" wednesday glares, her brows furrowed. rather than respond, midnight rolls her eyes.

"the fact that they thought we wouldn't find out proves how much they underestimate us" wednesday admits, thing quickly responding. "oh thing, you poor, naive appendage. our parents aren't worried about us, they are evil puppeteers who want to pull our strings, even from afar" she adds.

"so, what should we do, midnight?" wednesday questions, offering her twin a sadistic smile. for a moment the girl sits in silence, contemplating her response. as the thought comes to her head wednesday somewhat nods in agreement, quickly on the same page as midnight.

"well thing, it looks like you only have two options at this point" midnight blurts, looking to her twin and the hand. "option one, i lock you in here for the rest of the semester, and you go slowly insane trying to claw your way out, ruining your nails and your smooth, supple skin. and we both know how vain you are" wednesday states, pulling thing into her desk drawer.

"option two, you pledge your undying loyalty to us. your favorite twins" midnight adds, crossing her arms. wednesday glares at thing, daggers shooting from her gaze. thing somewhat tentatively agrees, wednesday clearly satisfied.

"our first order of business is to escape this teenage purgatory" wednesday states. "while i love the enthusiasm, there's something i needed to tell you" midnight admits, looking to her sister. "did you embarrass us again?" wednesday questions, midnight rolling her eyes.

"not quite. after we left the infirmary, i almost got crushed by a gargoyle outside" midnight states. "almost?" "xavier saved me, xavier thorpe. i don't know if you remember, but he's the one you locked in his godmothers casket" midnight blurts.

"oh right. that was a great funeral, definitely in my top 5. anyways, why would he save you?" wednesday questions. "i'm wondering that myself. also wondering who tried to smush me in the first place" midnight admits.

"maybe it was bianca. she seems to have a distaste for us" wednesday considered. "i thought that myself, but she's not a murderous type. definitely too weak." the girls sit in silence for a moment, contemplating their actions.

"well then, i have no clue who it was" wednesday admits, looking to her sister. "you're telling me" midnight sighs. "i guess that gives us a better reason to escape. fleeing for safety purposes" wednesday states. "if you say so" the blue haired girl mumbles, offering a small chuckle.
