𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 // 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲

the day of the poe cup had finally arrived, midnight looking over to yoko's bed with a sad frown. after bianca's stunt, yoko had been sent to the infirmary and in turn, wednesday decided to take over. although she enjoyed working with her twin, midnight had lost her distaste for her roommate and not to mention, knew how important the race was to yoko and enid.

the girl shakes herself out of her thoughts, softly getting ready and ensuring she has all the tools for the plans the girls had made. after their run-in with bianca when they had snuck into xavier's dorm, the twins came together to upgrade their canoe and begin playing a game of their own.

after packing her bag up and double checking to make sure everything was there, midnight exits the dorm and begins heading to meet up with enid and wednesday. on her way she passed bianca, softly bumping the girl with her shoulder without offering a single gaze in her direction.

"we're all set" enid mumbles with a smile, the twins leaning in. "good. things in position" wednesday states. "and i have all our tools" midnight adds. "wanna tell me what you three were up to?" enid questions. "and spoil the surprise?" wednesday asks. "speaking of surprises, your costumes are in the tent!" enid exclaims. "costumes?" the twins blurt in unison.

after heading into the tent, the girls find two black full piece outfits and cat ears, looking to each other with wide eyes. despite their distaste they swiftly change, sharing a look of disgust before they exit the tent.

"omg, you two look purr-fect! only thing, where are your whiskers?" enid blurts, offering the girls an excited glance. "ask again and you'll be down to eight lives" wednesday states, turning to look around. as midnight stands next to her twin she spots xavier in a jester costume, looking at the boy for a moment. "i'll be right back" midnight blurts, leaving without another word.

as soon as he spots the girl, a small smile spreads on xavier's face. "i like the new look, thorpe. fits your troubled artist background" midnight teases, looking up at the boy. although he tried to not make it obvious, xavier couldn't help allowing his gaze to fall across the girls figure several times, the smile still on his lips.

"thanks addams. so, are you ready to get crushed by my team?" xavier questions, softly patting her arm as he makes his comment. "your optimism is admirable, thorpe. the issue is, however, the black cats will beat you and everyone else. you have my word" midnight retorts, crossing her arms for a moment as she looks at him.

"'your optimism is admirable' addams" xavier jokes, the blue-haired girl rolling her eyes. "very original xavier. now, i'm going to go check in with my teammates. see you around" she blurts, the boy nodding softly. "well, good luck. i think you'll need it" xavier smirks, midnight rolling her eyes as she begins to walk away.

"and midnight" he calls out, the girl turning around. "you look good." although the comment made her head spin she retains a straight face and rather turns, continuing to walk towards the dock filled with shock and fear. get your head in the game, midnight. there is no time for distractions today.

the black cats swiftly meet up, discussing their plans once more before beginning to board. once the girls sit down, midnight is side by side with xavier and bianca. after offering xavier a quick glance and a microscopic smile, her thoughts are interrupted by the sound of bianca. "what do we have here? the runts of the litter" she blurts, glaring at the girls.

"for the record, neither me nor my sister think we are better than everyone else. just that we're better than you" wednesday retorts, bianca's face somewhat dropping. midnight softly taps her twin on the back and bianca turns away, offering a soft glare. "you're the worst" midnight sighs. "don't flatter me" wednesday smiles.
