the blue-haired addams girl sits in her room, softly pacing for a moment before returning to her bed. rather than contemplate her plans for the day, the girl focuses in on the vinyl she had been listening to, mask by bauhaus. after letting out one final deep breath, she gets up to look at herself in the mirror. although the last thing midnight cared about was validation from others, she couldn't help wanting to impress xavier.

soon enough she had touched up her makeup, and put on her final outfit for the day. luckily enough yoko was gone, allowing midnight the freedom to shamelessly indulge in such a stereotypical action. seemingly moments after she had finished putting on all her accessories and finishing touches, the girl hears a knock at the door.

at first the addams girl can't help but freeze, merely standing by her bed. pull yourself together, midnight. nobody should waste time being so distraught over another human being, especially when the human in question is a teenage boy. she shakes herself out of it, quickly moving to open up the door. "midnight, you look great. well, you always do, but you know what i mean" xavier blurts, his gaze focused on her.

"these uh- these are for you" he adds, pulling a bouquet of black and blue flowers from behind his back. midnight accepts the flowers, admiring each piece of the arrangement for a moment. "they're absolutely dreadful" she admits with a soft smile, moving her gaze up the xavier.

"you know, i wasn't sure if you would ghost me or not" midnight jokes, a soft smile on her face as she stands in her doorway, flowers in hand. "why would anyone ever ghost you, addams? you're like a ball of sunshine, i would hate to miss out on such joy" xavier smirks, moving a bit closer to her as they chat. the girl rolls her eyes, softly shaking her head as she does so. "you never give it a rest, huh?" she questions. "of course not."

rather than say anything the girl offers a quiet chuckle, looking up at the man with an unusually soft gaze. "well, addams, are you ready to go?" xavier asks, looking down at her with a smile. "almost. let me just grab my bag, set these in a jar, and make sure i have everything i need" the girl states, backing up into her dorm. "you can come in if you keep your hands to yourself" she adds, offering him a quick gaze before returning her attention to her possessions.

moments after she enters her room the boy follows, watching her with a smile as he waits near the door. "so, what is it you have planned?" the addams girl questions, quickly popping the flowers into a jar before adding some water. "why should i spoil the surprise?" xavier asks, a smirk on his lips as the girl glares at him.

"because, i would appreciate it?" midnight suggests. "it's tempting, but i have to pass this time around" he smirks, leaning against the wall as he watches the girl. she rolls her eyes swiftly, packing a few items into her usual bag. "you're the worst" she sighs, looking around to ensure she has everything. rather than say anything the boy laughs, softly shaking his head.

"it wasn't a joke, thorpe. now let's go" midnight states, xavier nodding in agreement as he follows her out of the room. as the two begin to walk side by side, midnight examines the boys features for a moment. as she is doing so, she can't help noticing a few scratches peeking from under his jacket collar.

although part of her felt she should leave it, curiosity got the best of her. "what happened to your neck?" she blurts, xavier turning with a slightly panicked expression. the man begins stumbling over his words, midnight crossing her arms. "just be honest. promise i won't tell anyone" she sighs, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"you know those paintings i did, the ones of the monster? i still can't get it out of my head so i was painting, and it just came to life,
popped out of the canvas and scratched me. i'm still not even sure how, because i didn't do anything to bring it to life" he admits with a whisper, looking down at her with wide eyes.

for a moment the girl sits in silence, contemplating his words. "i sound crazy, huh?" he questions. "not at all. besides, i can get behind a bit of crazy" midnight retorts, offering the artist a faint smile. the boy quickly returns the gesture, his energy lightening up. without a word he wraps his hand around hers, leading the girl towards the shuttles.

engaging in such... typical activities made midnights head spin, but for some reason she didn't mind it. although she wouldn't admit it to anyone, especially herself, the girl felt comfortable around xavier. on top of that, she found herself constantly curious about the boy, taking every chance she was given to speak to him.

"so, outreach day. what the hell happened?" xavier questions, a soft smirk on his lips as he looks at the dark-mannered girl. "why would i know?" midnight retorts, trying to hold back her smile. "seriously? that stunt had addams written all over it" xavier chuckles, the girl quickly rolling her eyes. "let's just say our hands are clean" midnight smirks, bumping into the boy for a moment as their hands remain interlocked.

soon enough they arrive at the shuttle, xavier helping midnight into the vehicle as he remains close behind her. "so, do you have any siblings other than wednesday?" the boy questions, the two teens sitting side by side as they were transported to the town. "i have a little brother, pugsley. he's an absolute pain, but i'd kill for him. you?"

"nope. just a lonely, only child" xavier states, his body turned towards the girl as he offers a joking smile. "makes sense" midnight teases, offering him a wide eyed gaze as the words leave her mouth. rather than say anything he glares at her, crossing his arms. "i'm kidding, i'm kidding. regardless, being alone isn't always so bad" she adds, xavier softly nodding.

"true, but it isn't always great, especially when it's your whole life. my dad was always too busy for me as a kid, and it really hurt sometimes; knowing that money and fame is more important than i am. but, life goes on" xavier admits, his gaze falling to the floor.

mere moments after his declaration the boy widens his eyes, looking at midnight. "i'm sorry, you didn't need to hear all of that" he mumbles, clearly somewhat bashful of his actions. "no need to apologize. i know i'm not exactly celebrated for my genuinity, but i'm here for you. if you tell anyone i said this you're dead, but i think i would chose you over money and fame. but to be fair, i hate attention" the girl retorts, offering the man a microscopic smile.

"you can never just give a compliment, huh addams? i promise if you do, i won't let it get to my head" xavier jokes, midnight rolling her eyes. "whatever thorpe. you're lucky that i tolerate you" she sighs, glaring at him for a moment. "yeah, yeah. just admit you want to kiss me and get on with it" he smirks, the girl offering an offended look. "you are utterly ridiculous, xavier thorpe." "and you are utterly magnificent, midnight addams."
