soon enough the shuttle had arrived in jericho, xavier swiftly getting up to lead the addams girl out of the vehicle. they had been dropped off near the center of the town, the burned statue clear as day from every inch of the area. the girl holds back a smile as she considers the act of revenge, following as xavier once more grabs her hand.

the boy leads the girl slowly through town, sneaking glances at her as they go. "do you have anything you want to do today? i'm sure we could squeeze it in" xavier asks, looking over at the girl. "nothing i can think of. unless you want to terrorize civilians" midnight smirks, bumping the man's arm with her own. "i'll have to pass this time, addams" he chuckles, leading the girl towards the cafe she knew all too well.

"really? you're bringing me to the weathervane? i thought you said this would be cool?" midnight questions, furrowing a brow as they head straight to the cafe. "it's just a pit stop, addams. not many places to get decent coffee around here" xavier retorts, softly chuckling at her behavior. "whatever you say, thorpe" she teases, the boy opening the door to the cafe for her.

midnight looks over to the register, tyler offering her a soft wave and smile. "look xavier, it's your best friend" midnight whispers, the boy quickly glaring at her. "you are genuinely the worst. making me regret the invitation" he sighs, the girl rolling her eyes. "i'm sure that's definitely the case" she smirks, nudging him softly as she looks at the menu.

"so, do you know what you're getting?" xavier questions, his gaze focused on the girl next to him. "probably just an earl grey. maybe with a bit of lavender if i feel crazy" midnight admits, offering a faint smirk. "wow, how adventurous. let's go order before you lose this spark of spontaneity" the boy smirks, leading the girl towards the register with a hand on her waist.

within mere moments they arrive to the counter, the blonde barista examining them for a moment. "what are you two doing here?" tyler questions, a seemingly fabricated smile on his face as he looked at the pair. "just hanging out. does it matter?" midnight retorts, offering furrowed brows as xavier stands flat-faced behind her, his hand still resting on her waist. the mere feeling made her stomach churn, but she ignored it as she looked to tyler. "nope, just curious. so, what can i get you guys?" the barista asks.

"well i know i want a hot lavender earl grey, to-go if possible. xavier?" the addams girl states, turning to look at the artist. "i'll do a hazelnut cold brew. also to-go" he adds, his expression still flat and hard. "awesome. it'll be $8 for that" tyler declares, his demeanor excessively warm. as midnight goes to grab her wallet xavier swiftly hands the boy a $10, the girl glaring at the artist. "keep the change" xavier states, beginning to walk to the side of the counter.

midnight swiftly moves after the boy, catching up as he sits in a booth. "i could've paid, you know. at least for myself" she sighs, sitting in front of the boy with a soft glare. "no need. i made the plans, i pay" he assures, offering her a wide grin. "well i guess i'll need to make the next plans then, huh?" midnight retorts, her gaze locked on the boy. "you really can't get enough of me, can you addams? already planning our next adventure" xavier smirks.

"in your dreams" she states, rolling her eyes at his statement. "so, have you finally settled in at nevermore? or are you and wednesday still itching to escape?" the boy questions, a soft smile still on his lips. "it's hard to say. i don't think it will ever be my favorite place in the world, but i can definitely appreciate all the chaos; the unsolved mysteries, the monsters, the cover-ups. and i'll be honest, the company isn't horrible" midnight admits, focusing on xavier as she finishes her remark.
