midnight stands next to her twin, her focus drawn on the image of the girls and what looked to be a pilgrim. they look to eachother for a moment as they contemplate, staring at the area in the courtyard captured in the drawing. the sound of weems clapping fills the girls ears, both slowly turning around.

"all students will report for their volunteer jobs at 10 a.m. sharp, followed by a community lunch at 1:00. as you know, this year outreach day culminates in a very special event. the dedication of a new memorial statue in the town square, which will also include performances by nevermore students" weems declares, all the students squealing with excitement.

midnight rolls her eyes, looking to her twin with a flat, irritated expression. you're telling me every single kid here is proud to be displayed like a zoo animal? interesting. "as representatives of our school, i trust you will all put your best face forward" weems adds, everyone beginning to laugh and talk to friends.

suddenly the staff begins to give out cards to the students, one teacher handing wednesday and midnight their cards. "yes, i got pilgrim world!" enid exclaims, bouncing as she looks at the twins. "i do have natural people skills and a love of performing, so it's kind of the obvi choice. what'd you two get?" she continues, suddenly turning her attention to the twins.

"uriah's heap. whatever that is" wednesday blurts, enids face dropping. "ew. it's this weird, creepy antique store. you'll love it though" the werewolf states, midnight nodding with interest. "sounds like somewhere i need to check out. anyways, i got weathervane. guess i get to go hang with galpin" midnight sighs, looking to the girls.

"well you certainly give off some sort of barista vibe. anyways, i'm just crossing my claws ajax and i will be outreaching together" enid exclaims, the group of girls looking over at xavier and ajax. midnight allows her gaze to lock with xavier's, offering a quick smirk before she looks away.

suddenly enid walks away and principal weems moves towards the twins, standing in front of them. "don't worry about your instruments girls. i'll have them brought to the town square this afternoon" weems smiles, each twin offering the principal a hard, flat-faced gaze. "our instruments?" midnight questions, trying to hide her fear.

"i caught each of you performing your rooftop serenades... impressive. i volunteered you two to accompany the jericho high school marching band at the ceremony. i'm sure it won't be too challenging to play an uplifting fleetwood mac melody. and midnight, i signed you up for a solo performance later today, so i'm sure you can whip something up for that" the principal declares.

"as long as you promise to hang each of us as a witch afterwards" wednesday blurts, weems smiling at the girls. midnight rolls her eyes, the twins making their way to the bus. although her gaze was focused on xavier, the girl ignores her thoughts as she followed her twin towards the back of the vehicle.

soon enough the students arrive in the town square, the addams twins quickly shuffling off of the bus. midnight swiftly spots xavier staring at a white wall, wednesday already halfway to the location of the boy. please don't do anything idiotic, wednesday. midnight scurried after her twin, arriving next to the pair soon after they had begun chatting.

"i have more pressing issues on my mind" wednesday states. "yeah, like what?" xavier questions, both teenagers unaware of midnights presence. "tracking down the monster that killed your former roommate" wednesday declares, looking at the man with a flat face. "oh my god, for the last time, rowan was expelled. everyone saw him leave" xavier argues, midnight immediately rolling her eyes.
