Song : Runaway - Kanye West

~ Alejandra ~

"My brain feels like it's gonna burst"

"That's cause you're laying upside down," Ziek points out from the bed across from me.

"Or maybe it's cause I'm thinking so many things." I offer, staring at him sitting on the bed from the opposite side. "Or what if you're the one who's upside down."

"I'm so glad I'm sober right now." Gabriel chimes in from beside him.

His eyes, while not right side up, look at me with a glimmer in them that isn't due to the alcohol.

It can't be. He hasn't drank any.

"I'm so glad I'm not, this is awesome!" Nayah sits up from next to me, so thrilled to be drunk for the first time.

I smile, joyfully.

Granted, it took a lot of convincing for Anayah to even consider drinking, but once she saw Ziek take a shot, she had no problem following suit.

"You like it, Nai? You're okay?" I confirm, my head still hanging upside down off the mattress we lay on.

"I'm better than okay," She assures with a passion in her voice that I've never heard before.

Suddenly, she raises to her feet and stands tall from beside me, still on the bed. "I fucking love being drunk."

She slightly bounces and I feel the weight of her new position dip the mattress next to me. I giggle but raise my finger up. "Hey, don't turn into me now."

Ziek laughs, leading me to look at him accusingly.

"Don't laugh, you drank too" I point out.

"I had two shots. You had seven and our new alcoholic over here," he gestures towards anayah now jumping on the bed, "she had five."

I roll onto my stomach, somehow not knocking down Anayah next to me. I look up at her, a full smile on my face watching her bounce on the mattress.

"Having fun?" I ask, laughing. She doesn't answer. She continues to mindlessly, yet delicately, jump on the bed, a careless smile on her face.

For a second there's silence as the song playing softly from Ziek's speaker changes to the next one.

One note plays over and over on a piano and I sit up straight from the mattress I was just hanging off of.

Nayah stops jumping and looks at me with the same recognition of the song and from the smile on her face mirroring the one on mine, she loves it just as much as I do.

"Oh my gosh!" Nayah suddenly jumps off the bed as the same note continues to play.

She stumbles a bit and I laugh while Ziek sits up off the mattress he and Gabriel are laying on to check if she's alright.

She doesn't even notice his concern, but I do and point back and forth between him and her with an exaggerated wink.

She's too drunk to notice either of us right now, giving Ziek the green light to flip me off.

"Als." Nayah grabs my hands firmly, kneeling in front of me as I'm still on my stomach laying down. My eyes go wide, completely unaware of what's about to be said.

"I've never told you this before," she slurs, her lids looking slightly weighted atop her eyes, "but you have such good music taste."

Instantly, my eyes soften and I gasp. "You really think so?" My voice takes its soft tone that I don't recognize, but I don't question it.
