Chapter 18

Chase's POV

TULALA AKO dahil sa lahat ng nangyare, hanggang na narinig ko ang announcement ng prof namin.

“We're going to have our field trip next week, take the remaining days to rest and pack the things that you need,” anunsyo ni Sir bago mag-dismiss.

Unti unti nang nagsisialisan ang mga tao sa loob ng room. Eto na ang hinihintay namin, pagtapos nang isang linggo makakalabas na kami. I feel anxious, yet, a little excited.

“Are you alright Chase?” tanong ni Rhian.

Naka cast na ang braso n'ya, hindi magtatagal ay gagaling na rin ito agad. Mabuti nalang talaga at mabilis ang paggaling n'ya kaya hindi n'ya na kailangang manatili sa ospital.

“Yes, but I keep thinking about everything that had happened,” I admitted. There's no need to hide why my face is like this.

“When I tried to save someone nothing goes as planned. Vivian is gone, I got kidnap for trying to rescue a girl, you have a broken arm and Sage... He's in a difficult condition right now because of me, even know I tried my best to protect him,” I looked down.

“Why do I keep messing up?” I frustratedly uttered.

“It's not your fault. There are people out there that have been doing this kind of stuff, you are not the problem here Chase,” she said.

“You said you need to find some people in NHC? Then let's rest to gain our strength back,” she said. I nodded.

I gaze at her arm. She still uses concealer on her arms even know I've already seen her tattoos, also she's wearing her contact lenses again.

“Bakit tinatago mo pa rin?” naka simangot kong tanong.

“Isn't look weird?” tugon n'ya. Kumunot ang noo ko.

So she thinks it's look weird on her? Well, I say it's cool, she looks even more stronger with her tattoos. And her green eyes is so mesmerizing, black eyes doesn't suit her. I'm glad she's not wearing glasses today tho, I remenbered that it broke when she was fighting those Failed Experiments.

“No, I like it. If it's okay with you, when we're outside try not to use concealer and contact lens,” I said. I really like seeing her that way. It will also save her money, the concealers that she bought are hella expensive, and I'm not even exaggerating.

“Sure, I'm getting tired hiding it anyway.” A smile formed on my lips. I'm glad that she agreed. 

“Eto pala, kinuha ko sa kwarto ni Sage. I hope you don't leave us after reading it,” sabi ko sakanya.

Pinagisipan ko ang araw na ibibigay ko ang nakalap ko tungkol sa pagkatao n'ya noon, binigay ko rin ang impormasyon tungkol samin ni Sage. I hope she won't leave or think anything strange.

Tumayo na ako at niligpit ang gamit ko.

“May pupuntahan ako ngayon Rhian, kita nalang tayo bukas,” paalam ko.

“Gusto mo samahan kita?” tanong n'ya. Agad akong umiling.

“Kailangan mo magpahinga. Wala kang ibang gagawin kundi magpahinga, okay?” nakapamewang kong sabi.

She laughed and nodded, with that I left the school and arrived at a very unusual place.

I blankly stared at the walls of East Penal Institution. I went to the gatekeepers and said that I'll be visiting someone, they wouldn't let me in at first but then I saw Warden Alvarado.

“Good afternoon Warden,” I greeted him with a smile.

“Ah, ikaw si Chase, tama ba?” Tumango ako.
